This deluxe American Pilsner is brewed with premium American malt, and a perfect touch of American grown hops. The Lionshead family of beers is brewed using our state of the art brew kettle and our century old brewhouse. Lionshead has a crisp, dry mouth feel with a subtle touch of sweet overtones.

Had to try one these "Cheap" lagers from the east, a favorite among the local college populace. Faint grain aroma and taste, bland palate and finish. Typical pale lager.

Tastes like warm piss unless you drink it ice cold and then it tastes like cold piss. The only reason to drink this is if it's $2 a mug at the local college bar during an alumni weekend 20 years after you graduated. If so then bottoms up.

OMG!! I don't know if this was a really old can of beer or not (couldn't find a date anywhere) but it was terrible and for me, it was a drain pour. Terrible beer, period.

This is a great “cigar chaser” beer with a nice mouth feel and for the price I find it very drinkable

16oz can stamped H2125 LB (don't know what that means, but it wasn't 5/5/22, because I had the can before then) poured into a becher glass at fridge temp, no ABV listed on can. The beer pours bright pale yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a pencil thin ring and leaves no lacing. The aroma is sweet and grainy. The taste is semisweet, corn and light malt with mild mineral notes and a fair bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Fairly clean lager with no glaring flaws. Overall, very good AAL.

Lion Brewery, Inc. "Lionshead Pilsner"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle coded "12109 LB 1138 OK+".
$15.99/24 bottle case @ Javies Beverage, Philadelphia, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a crystal clear golden body beneath a standard cap of bright white foam that displayed a fair head retention before dropping. No lacing was left behind, and now there's just the suggestion of a thin collar left along the sides of the glass. The aroma is malty and sweetish suggesting adjunct. No hops are found. It's not unpleasant but it's far from great. On to the taste then... there are actually some hops to it but they're very limited. I can't pick out any specific characteristics. My guess is that it's from a hop extract. The malt remains sweetish and bready. It's definitely an adjunct beer although the price gives that away before you even buy it. A moderate to median bitterness balances it and keeps it from becoming sweet and cloying. The malt lingers but eventually fades. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp. In the end there's really not a whole lot to this beer. It's basically the same from beginning to end, althought the taste is better than the aroma. As an aside I'm quite familiar with this beer and it's not as good as it used to be.

Look: Pours a clear bright yellow small loose head that quickly settles to a thin skin a wisp of side glass lace.
AROMA: Sweet, grassy, corn husk, cereal.
TASTE: Very sweet adjunct,, not at all a good brew. What frozen steel smells like I pick up in the taste. Might work better on a hot summer day, but this is November and not so much.
The ingredients here are lacking and the result is an economy, low budget beer that is of, at best, mediocre quality.

Tastes like a watered down yeasty lager. Labeled as a deluxe pilsner. Not really pilsner tasting but overall drinkable. Maybe would buy again got it for cheap.

12oz can poured into a pint

A- pours clear pale yellow with a one finger foamy white head, decent retention

S- toasted malt, faint herbal hops, white grapes

T- slightly sweet grainy malt up front, mid palate has some grape notes that is almost white wine-like. The finish gives just a hint of herbal hops with clean toasted barley on the linger

M- medium light body with moderate carbonation, foamy mouthfeel continues into a crisp finish

I- definitely one of the better adjunct lagers I’ve had

It tasted a lot better when it costed less than 10 bucks a case. Now that the price went up, Genny is my go to budget beer.
This is a beer to buy for large crowds or people who don't know what good beer is.
It is just not that good. In my opinion, if you want to drink local, for the price, Yuengling Premium is better, although that's not saying much.

This brewery is within one hour of where I live and it's great to see it's still going. It actually has begun making some more upscale beers but that' for another time. Lionshead comes from a past era when each brewery had an individuality about them. First it pours a straw yellow. A bit different aroma that has a grain scent to it. It gets a head but goes away quickly and goes really to nothing. Plain and simply it goes flat. when drinking there is virtually no head and there is absolutely no lacing on the side of the glass. The taste is different. The first thing that you notice is a sweet taste. For sure the corn sugar or corn syrup used in it. It's not heavy though and easy drinking. What i like about this beer is it does have a taste all of it's own. It certainly doesn't taste like a production line beer. I also like the fact that it's available in bottles, something you don't see in bargain priced beers. The cost at my local distributor less than $15.00 a case of 24 cans, slightly more for the bottles.
