I really dig the Libertine's atmosphere and decor- it looks like a grand old cafe in Brussels or Madrid. Those old Tiffany-style lamps and all the wood are damn fine and I swear they're part of why we kept lingering there (despite how busy it was).
The beer selection is only alright, but the cocktails make up for it. Only 9 taps: Brooklyn Naranjito, Old Chubb nitro, Revolver Blood & Honey, Unibroue Fin du Monde, New Belgium Pumpkick, Brooklyn Blast, Pedernales Hefe, Anchor Liberty... the bottle selection is similarly weak (lots of macros and stuff you can find at Walmart).
Service ain't great either- those hipsters have the perfect look, but they are as aloof as the Queen of England and it is damn hard to get their attention.
Food- we had the smoked salmon plate and loved it. This is not your typical sliced chilled salmon but Seattle-style salmon, a whole piece of it. And it comes with a ton of accoutrements.
Plus food is half-off on Tuesdays so we lucked out!
I would come back for the cocktails and the ambience and the food, but not the beer. Sadly.

A: The playlists are great usually. I like a busy bar, makes me feel like I'm part of something important, less like I'm just getting wasted.
Q: They have decent stuff, nothing mind bending.
S: Service is decent, a bit slow when its busy obviously. A few cute and pleasant waitresses.
S: Selection is solid, but kind of stagnant. They keep a lot of same beers in stock year round. They stock a few of my favorites though, so that's nice.
F: I know people love the food. I get it. Gastropub! DERP DERP! Its whatever, take it or leave it. I tend to leave it when you dump something that tastes like warm ranch dressing all over my oxtails. Also, if you write something up as "wild mushroom" this or that on the menu, and its only a 14 dollar entree, we all know you're lying.
The kitchen staff has changed since i started going there, somewhat to the detriment of the bar.
The Hog Wings are great, the mussels are great, the cheese plate DESPITE being the same five or six cheeses on EVERY bar in Dallas's cheese list, are solid selections for casual dining.
V: A little pricy, especially the food, but its an electric atmosphere, interesting whiskey selection, and hell...for all my griping I keep coming back.

Ok, for transparency, I got the chicken and rice... and it came with sausage. I kept asking if it had beef in it, didn't occur to me to ask about pork. huge pet peeve of mine is having a description of food, and being delivered something that was not mentioned... especially if it is substantial, like beef or pork... so points off there. she did try to comp my entire meal, which was awesome, but not really fair, still had an app and a beer. And speaking of beer, only 9 on tap, and they are all typical Texas crafts, nothing special save southern star pro am... aka, ham in a glass. service was great though. ...
