This is a great little place for both beer and food!

Coolers run down the left side of the building while booths line the right. The bar and kitchen sit next to the coolers. Seating can get a little congested during busy hours, but they have a nice sized room in the back and outdoor seating available (weather permitting). Exposed brick and flat panel TVs give the dining/bar area a NY loft feel. Non Smoking.

The beer selection is ample. The coolers are fully stocked with various domestic, local and seasonal brews. Both the bottles and drafts are rotated with regularity.

The staff is knowledgeable. They can make recommendations for matching beer to your food order (or vice versa!).

Speaking of the food...this may be the strongest attribute of this place! Everything I have ordered has been exceptional. I would highly recommend the crab rolls!!

The menu is priced in line with similar places. The bottle prices are a little on the high side, but not outrageous.

I always suggest Bocktown to my out of town friends. It is a great place to talk and enjoy beer.

I come to Pittsburgh 4-5 times a year and I hardly ever skip this place. First time I was here was a couple of weeks after it opened, Christmas 06. I was very impressed with the beer selection and quality. Now after God knows how many visits over the past six plus years, I'm still happy everytime I walk through their door. Finally getting around to giving them the review they deserve. Don't miss this place if you're in the area. Great beer and food.

This is the anti-strip mall restaurant, that happens to be located in a strip mall. Clearly, there has been thought put into things here. Decor is nice and well done; you don't feel at all like you are in a huge shopping center. Big bonus points for no lights in the coolers. Selection is thorough, and I actually saw things I haven't seen anywhere else in Pittsburgh. It bums me out when I see that a restaurant won't cook a burger below medium though. They always end up coming well done and cooked through when that happens. And people are saying they are focusing on higher quality food? I don't see that. Not with a pre-processed and smushed to smithereens beef patty. My compliments to the chef/cook for still being able to turn out a nice enough burger though. Will adjust my score and comments on service if I visit again as I don't want to base my entire opinion based on one experience.
