The Nürnberger Bierhaus does a reasonably good job of creating an authentic German beer hall atmosphere in a very limited space. The crowd on an early Saturday night is primarily 40+ with an emphasis on the plus. The bar area is small, seating maybe 14 at the bar with another 5 small tables for 4 along the opposing wall. The restaurant area is also relatively small but provides additional table seating in the rear.
There are 10 beers on tap, 4 different varients of Spaten (Lager, Dunkel, Optimator and Pils), Paulaner Pils and Salvator, Weihenstephan Hefe (server with an orange slice at the bottom, whether you want it or not), DAB, Warsteiner and Tucher Helles Hefe. All drafts are served in appropriate 0.5 glassware or a 1 liter mug. I didn't ask for a bottled beer list, but checked it out online earlier and it looked pretty good.
The food was very good, the service was attentive and there's plenty of good German beer on tap to wash down your meal.

Great food served in decent sized portions. Fun, friendly atmosphere. Nice beer selection, served in the appropriate glassware.
There are seats at the bar, adjacent to the bar and also a separate dining room. The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly and make nice suggestions as to which beer might best accompany your choice of food. (Or if you are served your favorite beer first, they'll do the reverse.)
The only minus is also a plus in a way - Tends to get very crowded on weekends from noon on, which only stands to prove that they are doing something right.

Located on Castleton Avenue, not too far from Bay Street, the courthouse, the ferry terminal and the baseball stadium.
Classical looking facade with an outside rear beer garden. The interior featured table seating in the front and full restaurant seating toward the rear. The decor featured many pieces of old world paraphenalia. There was a nice (unsure if working) fireplace in the dining room.
The large bar was located in the front part of the bar. The draft list included Weihenstephaner Hefe, DAB, Dinkel Acker, Dinkel Acker Dark, Paulaner Pils, Spaten Optimator, Warsteiner and Warsteiner Oktoberfest. The bottle list was extensive and entirely all German selections.
The food was absolutely incredible. The luch special were all in the 8 dollar area and ranged from burgers to bratwurst to goulash to pork roast. The cucumber salad was excellent as well.
The bartender Dina was incredible friendly and drop dead gorgeous to boot.

One of my favorite new places on Staten Island. This might be slightly out of the way via public transportation for people off the island, although a bus from the ferry does drop you off right in front (just about).
One of the best features of Nurnberger is the ambiance. In the summer, the Garden is top notch, and in the winter the bar as you walk in is packed with friendly locals getting nice and warm with a great beer. There are a few large TV's for watching games as well. The waitresses all dress is authentic attire, speak German, and are very helpful with not only the food but with beer pairings.
On to the good stuff. There is over 50 beers, including tap, German, and some non German. All beer is served in proper glassware (just about unheard of in Staten Island) and the bar tender is extremely helpful in making a selection. There is a beer menu as well, and they have some great appetizers for sitting at the bar.
The food is very good, and pretty authentic. This is highly recommended if you are in the area, and certainly worth a drive from the surrounding areas. I would say the one item of concern is the dining space. When it is gorgeous and warm/inviting, it is pretty small. Expect a decent wait on the weekends and some week nights.

The place is a great German experience! The ambiance is great and true, and even the Beer Wenches speak German!
The Beer selection is great; Over 50 differnt beers. They have a huge selection of German Beers on Tap and bottles, including some non German Beers. You can have a Bretzel order with you beer, a platter of worst, or a full authentic German dinner. They have a good bar section with table, and an eating aria. And if the weather is nice, a GREAT beer Garden! Over all it is a great place to get bier and is always a fun time.
If you are coming to Staten Island by boat, you will need to take a city bus or a taxi from the Ferry. The bus ride is a bit inconvenient, so if you have a few extra bucks the taxi is the way to go. You can get a taxi at the boat.
