Kelly's is the go-to place for craft beer in the Berkshires.
They have a wonderful selection that is organized by style and alphabetical order, making it very easy to find what you're looking for.

The staff are always friendly, willing to help with anything.
The classes that they offer (Mega Beer Classes, etc.) are really great! Fun, interactive, and informative. They also provide a nice selection of artisanal cheeses that are available to purchase as well.

They update their website regularly and always seem to have some type of event going on. They make you feel welcome and that can be hard to come by these days.

Keep up the awesomeness!

I have been to stores far and wide and have yet to find one with such an inviting atmosphere and staff anywhere else. A very impressive selection of beer as well as wine and liquors. I have trouble not stopping in whenever I drive buy which tends to put a dent in my wallet as there are always far too many new beers on the shelf that I have to have.

The tasting classes they offer are spectacular, especially the Mega Beer classes which feature skype meet-ups with some of the head brewers.

Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Kelly's has a great craft beer selection. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. They have great classes to learn about and taste craft beer. I highly recommend Kelly's for beer.

Kelly's also has classes for wine and liquors.

Kelly's is a long-standing family owned business so it is a great way to shop local.

Kelly's is the jewel of the berkshires for craft beer afficiandos. We here in the berkshires are blessed with a nice range of stores that carry a wide range of brews, as well as some nice pubs with excellent selection. What sets Kelly's apart though is the passion and knowledge that comes with the experience. They go above and beyond just selling good beer and knowing good beer, they live and breath this stuff. My wife and I attended the Mega Beer class on 1/23/14. Wow just wow, we were able to enjoy local cheese paired perfectly with beers from Bear Republic, Unibroue, Brouwerji Hof Ten Dormall. And a Ninja beer!! but i cant talk about that one.

We were greeted with web chats with the master brewer from Bear, and Unibroue. they were so thrilled to be chatting it up with us folks, a class of about 25 people. We even got to try the whiskey distilled from the Bear Republic Racer 5. Excellent class very informative and everyone was just having a blast. I could have stayed there all night. To top it off you got 15% off of the beers that were tasted so we grabbed a Hof Ten #2 and something else that wasnt tasted but they put the 15% on the whole order anyway. class act people really giving the Beer movement in Berkshire County well deserved street cred.

Hit this place based on other reviews, on a day back in mid-summer when I had no other responsibilities and could tour the far west of my state without limit.

First thing that struck me was that this is a sparkly new, expanded store, very bright and clean and well laid out. Front room is all liquor and wine.

The beer is in the large back room all by itself, and if you park in the lot alongside the side entrance, a right turn once inside and you are there. Probably the most elbow room of any beer store I have been in.

"Walken" coolers along the far side and back walls of the c.50x75 foot space, long aisle of shelf space in front. Tons of cases and sixpacks in the coolers, bombers and singles on the aisle shelf. Some glassware and gift sets too.

Prices are good. Since I was out to buy and had just shopped the other big local beer store to little success due to the prices, I spent the most in any one store yet here.

Service was also better than most, although admittedly at the time I shopped and checked out there were few other customers. A young employee even asked if he could take my purchases out to my car.

On reviewing the receipt at home, however, the two glasses I bought which were over a sign reading $2.99 were listed as "tax" and totalled $15 on an $86 total tab. No added tax on liquor in my state, so that was odd. But since I scored a Duvel gift set for only $13, I let that pass.

Check out their website for specials and new arrivals.

Kelly's seems to try hard to excel, and in most ways they succeed. Probably one of the top five beer stores in Western Massachusetts, and very possibly offering the best shopping experience of all.

Fantastic craft store in the Berkshires. I always enjoying stopping off at Kelly's when I make a trip home to visit the folks. The last two years I have been there in the summer they have had FW anniversary series, parabola, Sucaba, Founders BS, BCBS, Sang Noir, Bruery and Boulevard sours and other national special releases that do not last a day on the shelf in Austin.

Andrew was a great help in suggesting some smaller New England breweries which was what I was really looking for. They had a full lineup of Jacks's Abbey (minus porter), Cisco Lady of Woods, Maine Beer Co etc.

Even offered a 10% discount on 6 beers and 15% on 12. Will definitely return to Kelly's on the next visit home.

Stopped in to Kelly's while visiting the Berkshires from Long Island, based on other positive reviews on this website. This place has a HUGE selection of single bottles and cans for sale from 12oz to 750ml (as well as the usual 6-packs and cases), covering a very wide variety of styles and breweries. The store is very clean and well taken care of. Beers are organized by style and prices are clearly marked, which is much appreciated. I found a few real surprises sitting on the shelves (stuff that either never made it to Long Island or has been long gone from the shelves there) and was very impressed with the range of offerings.

Staff was helpful, very knowledgeable and clearly enthusiastic, without being intrusive or pushy. Since I was primarily looking for beer outside the NY distribution, Andy was especially friendly and helpful, pointing out the various Boulevard bottles and others to add to my Jack's Abby collection.

This place is a real gem in a beautiful, quaint, New England town. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Berkshires or living within a reasonable driving range. You won't be sorry!

On a side note, I went in with my dad, a traditional BMC guy who has recently branched into Sam Adams and a few other "gateway" brews and he was blown away by the selection and the friendliness of the staff. Got him to try a couple Jack's Abby's that night and may have created a brand new BA.

Great place to buy Craft Beer in WMASS. Recently renovated and expanded beer area with lots of cold storage to keep beer fresh. The staff will go out of there way to help you with a selection. I have been to a couple of their beer classes where they open some unusual of rare beers for tasting by the participants. Lots of fun and informative.

Great place to stop while vacationing in the Berkshires.... load up on fine brews.!!

I was up in Dalton for some personal business and saw they were the only good place in town. As i passed by it the first time i thought it was a small place. But as you walk in the store is long and towards the back it was a craft beer store.

q: The store was laid out well for the beers were grouped together on styles which i thought was a nice change of pace.

S: I was helped by an employee named Andrew and right off the bat this guy knew his stuff. I think he knew what i wanted when he saw the bottle of Cascade Sang Noir in my hand. just started talking about different beers and what he had in the back room. And with my high bill for the all beers i was buying Andrew threw in a couple free glasses and a bottle bag.

S: The selection was out of this world. The beers that were on the shelf blew my mind. BCBS bottles on the shelf, the thing that blew me away was about 5 or 6 bottles of DFH Fort on the shelf. And the selection of sour beers were amazing.

If you are ever in Dalton Mass I highly suggest stopping at Kelly's Package Store Inc.

Kelly's, in Dalton, MA, has undergone a recent renovation to their facility, which has greatly increased their available space. Thankfully they have used that space to expand their craft beer selections. You will be able to find everything from the common domestic cans to high-level imported craft brews. They also have a wide selection of wines and spirits, artisanal cheeses, snacks, and accessories.

Kelly's routinely hosts special events which run the gamut from free beer and wine tastings, to their 'Beer Classes' (which require an entry fee, but feature hard to find brews that you might not have ever tried before, along with a wealth of information and the chance to video chat with master brewers from around the country).

There are other shops in the area with a comparable or larger wine and spirit selection, but when it comes to beer, Kelly's is the cream of the crop for the central Berkshire County area.

Kelly's is the best package store with the best service, excellent special events and exceptional customer service. An excellent selection of beer from all over the world. Was a participant in one of their beer classes and the hosts were well informed and made the class both fun and educational. Every time I have wanted a specialty beer they have had it in stock which is convenient. The staff are incredibly friendly and able to offer suggestions and the frequent tastings of different beers have opened my palate to beers I did not typically drink.

I love beer and certainly sour beers, wild beers and lambic/gueuze are my favorite. This kind of beer is for me the most difficult to get because it is a niche craft beer and let me tell you they have got plenty of it at Kelly's Package Store. The store is very big and sells plenty of other beer, wine and liquor and is always clean and well stocked. Their staff is very friendly and helpful and they are quite knowledgeable about Sours(many places do not even know what sour beer is). They have the best selection in the Dalton/Pittsfield area that I have found so far and I've lived here for several years. Most important for me is value and Kelly's is consistently low or even with the prices I find anywhere else, go there and try a sour next time you are in the area.

Oh man, where to begin. Kelly's is simply the most fun, friendly, and knowledgeable with the best and biggest selection around.

I know of no other place that has informative and fun sit-down craft beer classes, video chats with brewmasters, brewers, and brewery presidents from across America and Europe, a huge home brew contest (I heard it was bigger then anything west of Worcester?), craft beer kegs galore, a mega beer class that I got to try $450 worth of beer (if I bought just 1 of everything) at, AugtoBeerFest, Punkin'Chuggin', Black Friday Man Cave, and a slew of special tastings / events.

On top of all that, they have the largest and best craft beer selection around, definitely the biggest one in the Berkshires so it's no surprise to me the were voted as Best of the Berkshires. Massive dry beer selection includes the everything from saisons to sours.

Beyond all the beer and events, there is the Kelly family and crew as they like to be called. I support small, local businesses in any way I can and the Kelly family has set the bar high for community involvement.

They know a ton about craft beer, are super friendly and helpful, have the best selection around but the icing on the cake is the tremendous community involvement and I support that. Kelly's is always helping some one and I know that whenever I spend money, a portion is always going to a neighbor or family who needs a little boost.

(I tend to go on about businesses that do things for the community i.e. Moe's review)

Cheers Kelly's!

I attended both of the beer classes presented by Andrew and Jason back in October and again in November for the Mega Beer session. These guys presented the classes in both a professional and fun way. The classes certainly brought me out of my same ol beer shell and introduced me to more quality beers. I now even drink an occasional stout which I never would have considered in the past. Thumbs up for these classes and hope that Kelly's Package Store continues down this path. Friendly personnel, and a HUGE variety of beer, wine and liquor and chesses. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!!!

Stopped in because i've heard great things about the American craft brew selection so i thought i'd give it a shot on my way through the area.

The store front from the road looks tiny but once you pull into the parking lot it reveals about 175 yards worth of liquor store.

Very attentive staff, i was greeted right away and got plenty of explanations on beers i was curious about. they had over twenty cooler doors with like 11 or 12 for craft beers. they also had a wall of shelves opposite the cooler that must have had 250-300 beers of the single 22 oz variety.

Awesome experience, I'll be stopping every time i travel rte 9.

Stopped in today to look for a something I hadn't tried. The selection was incredible. All local craft brewers were well represented, plus several out of state options. I settled on a four pack of Great Divide's Yeti Stout. As per usual, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They have even added a full selection of artisan cheese and bread to go with your beer, wine, or liquor choice. They also have a schedule of events which include several tastings and representatives from brewers and distillers coming to give detailed explanations of their products. Kelly"s is always worth a stop.

Stopped in here for the first time in years, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the store has doubled in size, with fully half the store dedicated to beer. One of -if not THE- best selections in western ma.
Staff very helpful and attentive, answering questions and offering suggestions. As stated by another user, I was told to contact via phone or email any beer requests, and they would do their best to get it in stock.

Fantastic beer experience, highly recommended. It was way too easy to spend lots of money at once here!

And update: I've been bringing my wife, and occasionally my kids, into Kelly's for several months now, and we've sort if adopted this place, and staff, as a 2nd home and family. Jason and Andrew specifically ALWAYS go above and beyond, making sure to point out -and in many cases, set aside- new beers they know I'll like. SHOP AT KELLY'S, you won't regret it!

Stopped off at Kelly’s today to pick up some Berkshire and Stone brews. The place is somewhat small and the area where the beer is located take up 4 or 5 coolers but the selection is pretty good. They have all of the Berkshire brews and a number Opa-Opa brews. The guy that was working probably owned the place, real nice guy. Gave me his card and said that I can call at anytime with a request and he will put in an order, which puts this place over the top in my book. I guess he does a lot of interaction with the owner of the Old Forge, which is the best beer bar in this area of (IMO) Massachusetts. Not the largest selection but with them willing to put in a order that makes up for that. Over all a good experience.
