A - Pours a hazy golden with a hint of amber, lighter caramel/tan finger worth of head with decent retention and very strong lacing.

S - Fresh, zesty, grapefruit, lemon, light resinious pine, and some underlying caramel sweetness.

T - Pretty nice grapefruit resiny piney flavor up front. Alcohol isnt hidden quite well enough but the spicy simcoe flavors do a fair job masking it. pretty sizeable heft of toasty caramel and even darker tasting malts.

M - Medium bodied+, carbonated but quite thick, overall relatively smooth.

O - Flavor is just much too dominated by booze and resin. Not well balanced.

Tasty. A good hoppy flavor a little on the citrus side with a nice lingering aftertaste that did not
get bitter or unpleasant. My only reservation is that you need to share this if you have it in the growler it losses some of its flavor fast if you take your time (over the course of an evening) finishing it.

Back on tap after several years away...

85 IBU

Deep amber color with a decent head that leaves the glass marked with spotty lace. Smells distinctly like Simcoe hops with an enhanced grapefruit element, fruit, a touch of honey, and a light buttery note. Piney, resinous, citrusy flavor...very smooth and juicy. Again, that certain Simcoe greenness is present. Medium bodied, oily, and surprisingly mild in bitterness. Really easy to drink for nearly 9%.

a: Always looks good, leaving heavy lacing on the 8 oz. glass it comes in. Good retention of a fluffy off-white head. The beer is a rich amber in color.

s: Loaded with pulpy, fruity evergreen hops. Nice malt presence, pretty sweet. Good balance, with plenty of malt complexity to offset the hops.

m: smooth, medium carbonation and a full body

t: Thick caramel malts create a sweet backbone to support a huge dose of PacNW hop flavor. Well controlled bitterness level. Some days it seems too sweet for me, some days it's perfect. Great stuff.

d: quite easy to have a couple

even after 10+ glasses of this, I'm still not comfortable with my score...maybe I'll get to have one more before it's gone for the year.

The beer poured a slightly cloudy amber with a decent off-white head that diminished to a ring and left no lacing on the glass. The aroma was dominated by piney hops with some citrus hops and caramel malts in the background. The taste was very well balanced for a hoppy DIPA, the malt is not overpowering at all and provides an excellent background to a good blend of pine and citrus hops. The mouthfeel is almost creamy, the 9% alcohol is very well hidden. While this is not the best DIPA I've ever had, this one is VERY enjoyable and I'm glad to have it originate from my local brewery.
