Stopped in about 8pm on a Friday night. The bar and bar area was pretty empty but the dining area was pretty packed. The bar tended began furiously cleaning up at 9pm and told me that she was preparing for the "late night rush". The two beers that I had were good (Sweetwater IPA and Terrapin Hop Karma IPA). They didn't have much on the tap list that were special to me. Only a handful are regional - 2 Sweetwaters, 2 Terrapins, 2 Yuenglings and Carolina Blonde. No Tennesse brews. They also had a couple regional bottles with two from Highland. Mostly they had New Belgium, Sam Adams a handful of Colorado brews and a couple common imports. $4 a pint isn't bad (although the Asheville location charges $3.75). I counted 29 or 30 taps. Not sure because I was at the end of the bar. Atmosphere was typical of a chain bar. Lots of TVs with sports on and music playing. I was staying on the other side of I-40 at a hotel and it was a quick trip. Otherwise, I'd rather head to a downtown establishment.

Ok this was the weirdest Mellow Mushroom I have been in. First off it was in a strip mall, which I have been to a few in strip malls, but this was like dead on a Friday afternoon. Traffic was crazy trying to get in here, but once I made it in, the place was nicely sized with the Bar to the left as you walked in, maybe about 20 taps of regional and lower gravity craft offerings, did see some macros but not too many, mostly in bottle. The food was decent, as is usually the case at these places. Overall this was ok, it just threw me because it was so empty and they only people in side were an elderly couple. Just a strange vibe from a normally jumping place. Maybe later at night it would be more crowded.
