Poured a deep mahogany with a rich espresso-like steam colored head on top. It was quite voluminous at first, but reduced to a fine thick slick. A beautiful color. The nose was simply magnificent. Deep round notes of currants, raisins, sharp esters, and a burnt brown sugar note. The taste was just ever so slightly too alcoholic. There were sharp cherry notes and some rich chocolate. The mouthfeel was slightly sharp, but as it warmed the feel mellowed into a rich creamy smoothness. Couldn't drink too many of these, but the one I had was well well worth it.
