Poured from a 33cl bottle into a tulip:

A: Amber opaque color that reveals a ruby red hue when held up to the light. Soft pillowy white head that hangs around and laces the glass nicely. I poured carefully, but some yeast chunks still slipped by even though I left the last ounce in the bottle.

S: The nose is of candy sugar, yeast, stone fruits, and a wisp of spices and hops. It is a really inviting/invigorating aroma, unlike anything I have come across.

T: The taste does not let down. The sweetness in the nose does not show up on the palate, instead a full bodied flavor of dried fruit, bread, and a hint of noble hops appear. Just mildly spiced with a nice bite and dry finish. The extra time in the second fermentation vessel (second shot of yeast as well) really dried this beer to the bone. This is just a fantastic seasonal beer.

M: Full and lush with moderate carbonation.

D: The alcohol is so well hidden at 10% that I could drink a few of these. It is a powerful BPA/Triple (according to the De Struise brewers), but one that I will visit repeatedly each year. Cheers.

Pours orangey amber with a large head.
Nose shows spicy phenols and noble hops along with a doughy yeast note and some apple esters. Also a fair whack of malt with caramel and confectionery notes.
Sweet malty flavours, again with a big confectionery character. Some noble hops remain along with a hit of booze. A little cloying.

***2011 Vintage***

Thanks to hoppypocket for this one.

Poured from an 11.2 oz bottle, best before 26-12-2017.

Foams a bit out of the bottle, pours a ruddy, leather brown body. Tight foam that's decent. Smell is Belgian candi, taste has much the same but has cinnamon more prominent. Carbonation is lively, good stuff overall.
