Poured on tap into an elongated tulip glass at Max's taphouse in Baltimore. Just changed the kegs and first sip.
A golden and very bronze clear body is presented on the pour with not much head given, with some golden brass like hues towards the bottom. The carbonation on this really moves in slow motion so slowly up the glass. It litteraly crawls. The colar is a faint tan color.
Nose is closed, with maybe a sense of mild classic candi like sweetness. Straightforward but not really diverse or impressive.
Palate has a slight sense of vinous feel on first sip, with a classic Belgian mixing malt in the mid palate at first. Moderate carbonation, but a sense of simple white sugar that just dominates and takes the palate over.
It's a fine simple example, but it's also kind of pedestrian. Not my ideal Belgian big pale ale (tripel or not), and it seems like de Struise could have done better.
Serving type: on-tap

Thanks to hoppypocket for this one.
Poured from an 11.2 oz bottle, best before 26-12-2017.
Foams a bit out of the bottle, pours a ruddy, leather brown body. Tight foam that's decent. Smell is Belgian candi, taste has much the same but has cinnamon more prominent. Carbonation is lively, good stuff overall.
