33cl bottle from Struise bottle shop in Bruge (€10):
2011 Vintage: Dark mahogany to black with a couple bubbles that fade instantly in lieu of a head. The nose is sharp & slightly tarty with some vinegar notes & touches of red wine then some grapes too; it's quite strong too. The taste is similarly strong but with the vinegar a litlte lighter here, some red wine & grapes followed by a couple of darker fruits showing too; cherries & plums both featuring in what was quite a sour beer. The body was around medium & there wasn't any carbonation given the age of the beer but it was fairly well-balanced & definitely a strong one.

'08 vintage.
This one pours with a very dark brown color, with a small foamy white head, and a good bit of lacing.
This smells like smoky balsamic vinaigrette, caramel, simple syrup, figs, plums, and cherries.
With the beer a little bit cold, this is tolerable and basically good, but as it warms, it becomes nearly unbearable, with that smoky, musty and oxidized acidity becoming like a bad salad dressing and overwhelming the beer. Freshly poured though, it's got a great maltiness- some caramel, chocolate, and coffee.
The mouthfeel is pretty creamy, with a very lower level of carbonation.
I absolutely love De Struise, but this beer is definitely beyond its peak.

2008 bottle thanx too John :) First of all i must say that i am not a "fan" of the style...but this beer blew my mind! Sweet and sour with a woody backbone...dark fruit, cherries, dades, figs, plums, nuts and a nice touch of chocolate and even coffee. Really well balanced...sweet nor sour takes the upperhand. The low carbo really works well here. Just lovely!

Murky dark brown color with just a bit of tan foam. Aroma has really nice dried fruit notes with lots of sour raisins and some figs. taste starts sour and fruity with sour cherries and grapes, like a classic flanders ale, but gets more complex with really nice dried fruits, mostly raisins and figs. It's like a sour/acetic quadrupel or something like that. Medium body, slightly syrupy, just a bit of carbonation. A really complex beer with quadrupel type flavors but sour like a flemish ale.

S - Vinegar, burnt brown sugar, some red wine and light raisins and dark fruit
T - Sour, Plums, cherries, prunes, some vanilla but very dessert like tartness
M- Medium bodied with very little if any carbonation
O - Ok but very wine like and probably needed to be drank earlier

absolute favorite. I tried this beer in Antwerp's 'kulminator' cafe. Not cheap, but it's worth it. The dark brown equivalent of a geuze. Beautiful dark red color, deep, sour flavor, fruity and heavy. For those who are up for it :)

Bottle 2008 - Flanders to perfection. Great tartness, lots of oak and a nice smooth finish.
