A- Dark dirty brown body, looks muddy. Coffee colored small head which died out to leave carbonation bubbles.
S- Smashed raisins, figs and tons of wood. Brown sugared malts as well.
T- Roasted nutty brown sugar, vanilla, light chocolate, some sweet dark cherry flavor. Woody spicy finish with a bit of bitterness seemingly from oxidation. Colder the brew tasted more metallic and bitter as it warmed up it grew to be sweeter and tastier.
M- Full bodied velvety feel.
D- Very tasty as it warms.
I bought two bottles im reviewing the second one I had, this one seems to have a metallic oxidized character when its cold, as opposed to the first bottle which was absolute perfection. So I am subjective considering that the first bottle really blew me away. I would have given the first bottle a 5 in taste.
UPDATE: I tasted a third bottle on 3/14/11 sans any oxidation which was seriously out of this world for a Quad, I have heard of some reports of oxidation but I would tell you to definitely take the chance. Im going to update my score on taste from a 4 to a 4.5

On draft at the Holy Grale in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dark ruby red to brown appearance. The nose is of sweet plums and cherries. The taste is very strong with dark malts, figs, plums, dried cherries, and a little smoke. Very smooth for an old. Overall very nice. It's definitely recommended.
