Dark amber-gold body. Huge off-white head that starts smooth, but becomes rocky as it falls off.

Nose is sweet hops with a bit of Belgian-ness to it. I hesitate to call it funk, but I can tell it's not from California.

Flavor is huge bitter hops coating a malt body that is solid without being sweet. I wish I knew how to do this with a DIPA. Great stuff!

Mouthfeel is coating, unlike most IPAs. It does have some of that toothstripping character, but only in moderation. High carbonation.

Drinkability is really good. This does not seem like 9% to me. Definitely a sipper, but only because I want to savor this wonderful brew.

Thanks to juicestam for personally exporting this from Belgium to Kwajalein for a mid-Pacific treat!

Dark caramel appearance, fizzy tan head, decent retention, minimal lacing. Malt, yeast, biscuit, grapefruit, pine notes. Medium to full body, moderate to high carbonation. Malty, fruity, dank, uniquely amazing.

Fresh at the brewery tap.
Brown amber color with a thick head.
Aroma with notes of cherries, deep oak, bourbon, caramel and vinous.
Flavor with intense notes of cherries, lots of oaks, grapes, spices, earth, deep Jerez, caramels and hop juice. Quite dry aftertaste with a decent bitterness.
Medium to full body with appropriate carbonation.
Over 200 IBUs initially and now heaven. Perfect connection between hopiness, barrel age and deep sweetness.

2011 vintage, drank 1/12/14.

Brewed with candied sugars.

Dark red rust hue.

HUGE khaki head (careful pouring!); tons of sticky lace.

Mild caramel nose.

Medium mouthfeel. 3 years in, the citrus flavors are gone, leaving a mild caramel taste & a slightly bitter, dry finish.

I had one in 2012 that tasted much better...

2013 Vintage. Pours cloudy, amber in color with 3/4 inch head. Taste is Earl Grey tea, leafy hops, dark bread, Belgian sugar, and a bit of grain. Bitter with a dry aftertaste, medium bodied, with moderate carbonation. Almost like a mix between a dubbel and a Belgian IPA. Interesting and creative brew. I prefer Struise's quads, but this is worth a try if you enjoy their brews.

This gushed out of a bottle marked Vintage 2013 a dark amber almost brown color with a huge amount of off white head that sticks around. The smell is sweet, a little citrusy, and piney all together. There is a lot going on with the flavor. You get hop bitterness up front but you can tell that the fact it's aged subdues that a little. You get some citrus with a good amount of malt and sugar to balance it out. The feel is medium with a good amount of carbonation. This is a very interesting beer. I'm guessing it was supposed to be aged seeing the bottle was labeled with the vintage year. I would like to see what it taste like fresh.

Bottle purchased at Oliver's Beverage in Albany, NY. Accdidentally purchased a '13 vintage of this.

This one pours a moderately dark brown, with some yeastiness at the bottom, with a small head, and no real lacing.

Smells like caramel, faded leafy hops, some pine, and baked bread.

This has certainly faded with time and become worse. It's not entirely unpleasant, as there's a somewhat interesting malt backbone behind it, but there's kind of a metallic character to it that I don't love, and a strong Belgian yeastiness that's fairly distracting.

This is slightly syrupy in the body, with a very high level of carbonation, making it prickly on the finish.

This has definitely degraded, but it was still interesting enough to drink.

Going off old notes. Pours up a murky copper color with a nice frothy off white head. The nose is citrus, sweetness, yeasty, lots more citrus, apricot. Taste is very citrusy, nice bitterness, yeasty, great pale malt flavor, nice spritzy carbo, medium bodied. Great brew

I'm not sure how fresh this keg was, but there was minimal aroma and taste. A bit of bitterness. Would revisit.
