A Collaberative brew between Struise and De Molen. Actually a blend of Black Albert from Struise and Hel & Verdoemenis (Hell & Damnation) from De Molen. On tap at the pre-ZBF festival at Alvinne. The beer poured a dense blackhole color with a thick tan head. Deep roasted malt character in the nose, notes of chocolate and coffee. Taste provides the strong chocolate and roasted malt tones from the aroma along with some dried fruit notes that round out the beer well. As the beer warms a bit, the alcohol character comes through a bit more but is not overwhelming. A full bodied beer but very drinkable.

Thanks to Jeffo for a bottle of this!

jet black, one finger dense tan head, good lace as well. Smell is of major roast, coffee and rich dark chocolate, black liquorice, a slight touch of oxidization is setting in but not in an over the top way and just hangs in the periphery, some warming alcohol as well. Taste is full of roasted malts up front, big dark chocolate and coffee flavours, some dark fruit, anise, mildly bitter in the finish with a long roasty aftertaste. Thick full feel with light to medium carbonation. This was an impressive stout, big and viscious but drinks like it is much lighter than it really is, really well done.

Riedel tulip

**Getting close to 1,000 reviews and wanted something special. This didn't disappoint.**

A: Pours pitch black. Some reddish, brown hues around the edges. Layer of light tan head that forms a collar. Sticky lacing bits.

S: BIG. Strong dark roast coffee. Dark chocolate. Booze. Some licorice. Roasted malts. Touch of toffee. Dark fruits.

T: Wow. Very impressed. Age has done this very very well. Dark roast coffee. Dark deep cocoa. Sweetness from the malts. The heat is there on this big beer, but its impressively integrated. Long finish. Lots of lingering chocolate flavors.

M: Full bodied. Rich. Creamy.

330ml bottle served in a Duvel tulip glass, Best by date March 2014.

A: Pours a dark brown almost black color forming a big sized think, creamy and thin bubbled beige head: Solid. Medium to low retention and lots of spotty lacings left in the glass. Lingering and molasses

S: Wow! Strong roasted malts combined with coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, candy sugar and dark fruits. Strong notes of wood. A bit metallic. Light oxidization notes

T: Slightly sweet upfront followed by roasted flavors. Coffee, dark chocolate, caramel malts, toffee, candy sugar, licorice and vanilla. Excellent notes of oak. Metallic notes and some oxidization. Excellent bitterness in the end. Perfect taste

M: Heavy, creamy and molasses. Low carbonation and a just perfect bittersweet aftertaste

O: Great drinkability despite the high ABV. A perfect Imperial Stout. Thanks to Dennoman!

330ml bottle into snifter, split with shortysdude285. Thanks for the bottle dboon! Best by date March 2014.

A: Pours pitch black with one inch of dense dark brown head that faded to a thick collar. Streaky patches of lace were left down the glass.
S: I get rather aged scents of coffee, raisin, slight soy oxidization, vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate, and roast. Smells old but not turned, and smells good.
T: Tastes like a well-integrated and well-aged RIS should taste. Chocolate and roast dominate alongside flavors of molasses, toasted nuts, vanilla, char, licorice and coffee. The finish is full of mellow toasted flavors and leather, but the aftertaste is bitter and rather acidic (acid, not sour).
M: Very very fine bubbles in the carbonation, although rather frothy. Rich, decadent and syrupy mouthfeel, super viscous thick body. Heavy and thick all around. Slight booze comes through along with a punch of bitterness and some acid in the back of my throat. Acid reminds me of certain black coffee.
O: A very powerful and rich stout with intense but complex flavors. The acid and frothy carbonation take away from the drinkability, but this still drinks great and was quite enjoyable. Thanks again, Matt!
