Poured on tap into an elongated tulip glass at Maxs tap house in Baltimore.

A very light brown and orange amber body. Easily one of the lightest Quads I've ever seen. No head presented but a light tan collar. Some very small and very minimal carbonation. Not sure where this is going.

Nose is extremely closed, not getting much off of this. A little brown spice peaks out and a little light caramel.

Taste is extremely velvety. Palate leaves with the most perfect maple sugar bent i have ever had. With the mix of Belgian like candi on this it is a great compliment. With some warmth, mild raisins come out with a caramel sense taking over.

By far the easiest drinking quad I have had to date.

On-tap at Northdown. Served in a chalice.

A - White foam settles to a near-complete cap, leaving behind sheets of lace. Transparent dark orange body. Somewhat light for the style, but otherwise quite pretty.

S - Loads of candi sugar, dark fruits, treacle, some yeast bite, and a light alcohol note. It's a pretty accurate rendition of a quad.

T - Smooth, sugary, dark fruit, sharp and tangy yeast, loads of red fruits. Very well-hidden booze. I like the taste better than the taste a bit better as it loses the alcohol bite.

M - Smooth, medium body, pleasant moderate carbonation, and well-hidden booze. Went down quite easily, and I had no troubles finishing the snifter.

D - Good quad, but hard to recommend at this price with plenty of other quality Trappist offerings available. As usual Urbain is masterful in hiding alcohol, so drinkability is surprisingly high; there are just a number of other beers of this style I'd reach for first.

On tap at Congregation Ale House in Pasadena, CA.

Pours a hazy dark orange with a foamy bone colored head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, dark fruits, perfume, and slight spice aromas. Taste is much the same with a fruity flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but I think it has a better smell over the taste.
