12 oz. Bottle
Pours a very nice slightly cloudy dark golden orange color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick creamy one-finger off white head, which leaves some very nice thick sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, with a very nice malt note, very nice citrus note. The taste is very nice, hoppy, malty, citrusy. Medium body, with a nice bitter/dry finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew, would buy again.

It was an enjoyable beer. It is is somewhat complex with malts and hops. It has different tastes but blends well. It is darker that most IPA's, it may be because of the malts. I acquired it in a beer trade at work, but will when I see it.

a strange ipa really, and my first beer from Durango brewing. it pours an orange glazed honey color, clear and bright, with an inch of thick white froth. it smells really herbal, almost strangely so, like culinary herbs. basil and tarragon come to mind, amidst the hop bitterness and pale malt base. the flavor too is very herbal, with basil being readily detectable to me. lots of hop punch on the back end, both oily and bitter, but it comes across just a little sloppy, more like a happy accident than an intended outcome. still, drinkable enough at 7.5% abv, you might want to slow yourself down a little with these as the buzz sets in quick. overall I liked this just okay. I thought the herbal qualities detracted from the hop experience, and that there is just a little too much weight to this. enough to make me want to grab that Durango mixed box though just to try.
edit: this is fantastic on tap, a totally different animal. super fresh and distinct, woody and bright. improving a few ratings as a result of this experience.
