About a dozen craft beer taps, plus a good selection of bottles, from Bud to Belgian imports.

The pizza is outstanding and the brick oven filled the interior with a delicious aroma. Seating options ranged from the bar/restaurant area, to a lounge, to picnic tables on the deck and lawn, to a nook upstairs with a small stage. We started outside, but retreated when a thunderstorm hit. The staff did a great job straightening out the upstairs area and making the refugees from the rain comfortable inside.

Friendly staff, knowledgeable about the beer, and unique, comfortable setting. Well worth seeking out!

Another spot that was closed on our visit last year during some heavier pandemic waves, I was fairly excited to finally eat at this storied location after a visit to Hill. What was likely a gas station convenience store now converted into a small pizza pub, the vibe is still super small town and quaint with creaky floorboards, but also quirky and loose.

The taplist is far better than it has any right to be so far out in the middle of nowhere, even going so far as to providing some drafts that Hill had since sold out of and that other well-regarded taprooms in Montpelier and Waterbury didn't even have. If I wasn't already halfway to hell I would have drank through the entire selection.

But the reason I came here, (as is the case with many others, I'm sure) is the pie--pizza, that is--of which we had four over the course of two days. The toppings are creative and seemingly seasonal, while the crust is almost cracker thin and just as crispy as you'd expect from such. Quality scrumptiousness, indeed.

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with any choice, but of the four we had, The Green Mountain Special was our favorite, as recommended by my buddy Steve after he saw my check-ins there during our first visit the day before. See, Untappd can serve quite the valuable purpose!

Looks like a country store on the outside. On the inside it is a country store combined with a quality beer and pizza place. Pizza was good, 8 quality craft beers on tap and maybe 12 cans. Store has a medium/small-sized selection of awesome beers to buy to go. Funny t-shits (where the hell is West Glover) and Vermont cheese and other quality snacks. Small bar with a few bar chairs, and indoor seating in Pizza Hut style tables. Didn’t see the upstairs. Smells like cow dung outside (and inside when the door opens). Overall a fun stop near Hill Farmstead worth dropping in on.

A blend of a general store, a restaurant/bar, a beer window with amazing Vermont, National, and Belgian beer, and a back yard with lighting. And the pizza and wings are spectacular.

This place looks like a country store, but has one of the best selections of beer out there. If you cant make it to Hills Farmstead, just go to Parker and they will have plenty of it. Also, great selection of cans - Heady, Focal, and beer from all over Vermont. Just go here if you are near Hill Farmstead for some great food and drink. It has a great backyard with a tire swing for kids, and socially distant tables as well.

Had to give this place a shot as I've heard such great things about it. Outside tented area. And the outside smelled like where I grew up in PA, wooooeeeee, cow flops galore. But given I was there in the dog days of Summer, well, stinky is as stinky does - go figure. I wasn't bothered by the pasture smells but when me and my son walked in, damn! Ahhhhhh, the emphatic beauty of pizza flew through the air absolutely beautifully. Pepperoni pizza for my son and a large chicken bacon broccoli pizza that I ended up bringing close to half home and why? Cause it was absolutely phenomenal! I'm from the other side of the state of Vermont where Ramunto's and Vermont Tap House rules the roost of high end pizza but this pizza was just absolutely amazing. No ifs, ands, or buts about it! Selection, well, they had some AB products and 4 taps. All I had was the HF Edward the whole time, even though I thought it was Susan. The service was decent. A couple of times the waitress walked past my empty glass. Luckily, the black guy bartender seemed to be on his toes.

On the other hand, yes, they have some great high end bottles at the restaurant and the store, which was pretty cool.

Me, I'll go back preferably in the Summer. Kinda wish there were a bit more taps.

Another great "in the middle of nowhere" VT spot that is pretty much a must-visit destination at least once in your life, or better yet, anytime you're near "the Hill." Let's face it, if you're up here, there are only two places to go to, and this is one of them. The place is tiny, with a organic feel to it. There are two bar areas, but I've only ever been in the front, which consists of a small counter seating a handful of people, and a few tables to sit at. The service is pretty laid back, but I've had nothing but friendly encounters.

The beer of course is top-notch, focusing mainly on VT goodies, especially Hill Farmstead. If you're sitting in the front bar, always ask if there is more on tap, because they often don't have the full list on the chalkboard. The food is pizza. And salad, but mainly PIZZA. Some creative and very tasty things too. My recommendation is the Green Mountain Special...look it up.

They do also have a small shop here, which is a convenience store / bottle stop. Not a huge selection, but always worth checking out, just in case.

If you're coming from Burlington or Waterbury, or even beyond to visit Hill Farmstead, Parker Pie is even further out of your way, by maybe 20 minutes or so. But if you have the time, you have to go. And if you don't have the time, make the time.

Take a small place. A place where not only is everything local (like they do in VT), but you can also pull up to the driveway, or.. tie your horse up. Yes... people do show up here on horseback.. welcome to Vermont.

Inside is a converted barn and two bar areas. First glance on a paper pie plate are the words written "Expect your pizza to take an hour or more". Well at least they tell you. So what can you do in the interim.

First off there is exceptional beer on tap. Sure there will be some usual's, but don't ask me who trucks in some of this stuff this far, but you want Hill Farmstead. YOU WANT TO DRINK HILL FARMSTEAD BEERS my friends... you would be WASTING your time driving all the way out in the rurals, not supporting a fantastic brewery that is local, dodging wild turkeys on the road (I thought if I could hit one I could bring it here and they would cook it), and having beers you will remember for much time.

That being said it's a good way to pass the time. Also buying some stuff in the store like the rice and grains sold made locally will do the trick also.

Had some nachos. I'll admit, they were a little disappointing. Slightly burnt, very little cheese, and a small portion. They were good, but could be considerably better.

But then there are the pies. I honestly didn't wait that long for them, ordering a Works sans olives and pepperoni and also the Green Mountain special (more on that later).

The Works in medium came out nice and chewy, lots of great tasty sausage and caramel onions and mushrooms and excellent goodies.

But the killer as we were told... is the Green Mountain Special.

The Green mountain special at first sounds like an abomination. Spinach, Apple, cheese (I mean were in Vermont is there no cheese I mean come on!), humanely created and raised bacon, and maple syrup. yes you read that correctly. Maple syrup.

I thought this can NOT work... but believe me... it's magic...

Ordering a large one, loaded with spinach, the syrup is just kissed so lightly and with the bacon and apples it is just heavenly rich, lightly sweet, with supper granola green goodness tastes. The crust also on the pies are supper thin, they absolutely CRACKLE when you eat them..

I have never had pizza from ANYWHERE this good, it is truly worth going out for and out of the way for.

There is also apparently an upstairs area for live shows and music, but I never got to see that.

Great vibe, solid pizza, really good tap list. Totally worth a visit.

This place is so unassuming and I can't share how worth going out of your way to hit this place is. Its about 15 minutes from Hill Farmstead! Unreal food....a pizza with maple syrup is a must! No joke, by far what I would consider the best beer selection in my entire beercation.

Just down the road from Hill Farmstead in nearby West Grover Vermont. They always have Hill's on tap and make the best pizza in Vermont. Not too far off the interstate I-91, They sell some of the hard to find brews in bottles and bombers. If your doing Hill's then you need to stop at Parker Pie too.

New England jaunt in the Spring. Vermont today, tomorrow, and then Maine for a few days. Never been this far up 91 before, and my guess that the unmarked road with a bridge was Roaring Brook Road was a successful leap. To the end, hook that right, and it’s that, over there, on the bend, parking around the side in the early April Vermont mud…

Entered up front and was greeted by wine & beer displayed; Dieu De Ciel, Alesmith, and well, hello, Fantome Noel. Take in the little country store scene; dry goods, baked goods, nuts, cheese, wine & beer, and through the corral doors to the rear. 2 bar pieces split, seating 3 and 3 on colorfully painted chairs; wood topped bar here, dented & dinged metal top bar there. A brass ’T’ tower of 5 on the front side and 2 barbell uprights with 2 taps each below the rear piece with stacked glassware. Piping glassware rack with tulips and stemware a-dangling to the left, and a horizontal board to the right listing the 9 tap selection sectioned in alternating colored chalk (brewery, beer, origin, style, ABV, IBU’s, price, & serving size). Kitchen corralled in between the two, with swinging saloon doors; its door frame and adjacent kitchen peek a boo window framing pasted with dollar bills & pictures. Past tense tap handles line the space above and alongside, and some domestic bottles and cans displayed with craft & import interjected.

Wood slat/plank floorings, slat ceilings in light gray, and the walls in red, yellow, & orange, and some areas done blue with cloud play. And the décor; some local art (paintings), snow shoes, beer ad tin silliness, license plates, rusty old signage, and the wall near the rear door with newspaper cutouts & beer stickers. A ½ dozen tables mix & match behind us, boothed and benched. There’s a small TV showing soccer. Phil is psyched for the world cup, I cannot understand why.

9 taps here and 5 more in the back room bar not currently open (but they will draw from there if you’re polite and nice). 14 taps in all; a mix of right down the road local hero craft (Hill Farmstead Edward, Single Hop Simcoe, Double Citra, & the Blaugies La Vermontoise collab), craft regionally nearish & far (Sixpoint Sweet Action, Local Option Sweet Leif, Finch’s Sobek & Set, Bruery Oude Tart, Stone Ruination Grapefruit Slam, Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye), a single import (Siren Broken Dream Stout), and an in-state soda/cider/kombucha hat trick (Rookies Root Beer, Citizen Cider Unified Press, Aqua Vitea Kombucha). I drank the Hill Farmstead Single Hop Simcoe & Double Citra because I could. They’ve also got a bottle list of some 3 dozen offerings broken out by origin. It’s a pretty good list and includes a handful of macros, N/A, gluten free, & cider action. No Cantillon bottles today, wah (just to hurt me).

And food, yes, sure, I mean, we’ve only been driving all damn day. I had been toying with a BLT, because, well, it’s where bacon lives, but opted instead for a small piiiiie. Pizza Margherita was her name (fresh garlic, crushed plum tomatoes, fresh basil, and you know what, I’m feelin’ crazy, why don’t we add pepperoni). Phil went with the Scott’s Revenge (Scott’s oil, crushed plum tomatoes, spicy shrimp, scallions, and roasted red peppers). Mine was a kickin’ pie, and Phil said his was excellent, too. “Lots of shrimp, spicy, very good”. That there was actual Phil verbiage.

Tunes have been excellent! See the way I dealt that with an exclamation point, you can tell I meant that shit. Zeppelin, Stones, Animals, Zombies, CCR, Doors, Beatles, Cream, but some of this stuff sounds like slightly different versions than those I know. I’m wondering if we’re getting alternate versions of some of these or if I’m experiencing the single speaker mono effect. ‘Trickery’, I say!

Darcy serves us up, Maine kid she is. This we find, Phil & I, as we talk of plans for the days ahead. Unexpectedly good pizza & a jammin’ tap list. Come and get your drink & snack on before heading down the road for growl fills or wait in line there hungry, grumbly, & sad, like the clown.
