A stopped by this place last week while I was vacationing down on the island. I was looking for Captain Lawrence and Keegan's since I can't get them in Rochester; they had a decent selection from each brewery. I ended up getting some Mother's Milk, Nor' Easter, and Captain's Reserve Imperial IPA. I also grabbed a bottle of Stone Sublimely Self Righteous.

The store is a little small, but packs a decent selection into the space it has. Macro brews are banished to just a few coolers in the back of the store and there are about 10 growler taps towards the front. I didn't see too many rare items, but all the typical imports were available. They did have a decent shelf of single bottles by the register - I almost grabbed a bottle of GI BCS '08, but it was $8.99 (not a bad price I suppose, but I still don't want to pay that much for a single 12 oz bottle). The single guy working while I was there was pretty helpful and made some recommendations when I told him I was looking for stuff that I couldn't get upstate. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the place and I'll probably check it out again the next time I'm on Long Island.

I had no idea this place was so awesome. I passed it weekly for almost a year after I moved to Bellport. I'm so bummed I never went in earlier. Staff is extremely knowledgeable AND friendly. Easy place to lose time in. Highly recommended if you are this far out on the island.

The worker's here were very friendly and knowledgeable about beer. I was out in Patchogue and after seeing this place on Beer Menus, I figured I'd stop in to pick up a few brews. I think I wound up spending about $70 here. They had a lot of choices I haven't seen anywhere else on Long Island, and even looking at their Beer Menus now, they have some names I don't recognize. They also have a massive variety of bottles as well (according to BM at this time, 870, plus 58 cans and 10 taps!). It appears they've built quite a rapport with many breweries because brands like AleSmith and Allagash for example, are relatively common, but you'll typically see 2-4 varities. Here it appears they have a good portion of each's entire lineup. This is probably one of the best distributors on Long Island. If you live out east you're lucky to have this place.

Where to begin. Dave is the biggest help out there. I find my self driving an hour out there, just hanging out there for a few hours just talking to the staff about everything. This place is almost long island's "best kept secret" for craft beer. The beers are always rotating, and you literally never know what goodies dave will pull out for you to try.. This is by far the #1 beer distributor on long island and not many places come close to the quality and quantity that Dave has to offer!

A fellow BA turned me on to this place when I had asked about LI shops in a forum. WOW, am I ever glad that I found out about it!

I walked in at 8:30p on a Friday, about half an hour before closing. The owner, Dave, was there, and once he found out I was from out of town and a geek, he started showing me around. This place is like no other I have seen!

They have a little of everything there. The most impressive part, that I have not seen in other places is the amount of vintage stuff! It is really remarkable how much amazing stuff he has accumulated. I am sure that part of it is how far out on Long Island the shop is, the other part could be that he doesnt always put it right out on the shelf. Whatever it is, it led me to one of the neatest trips inside a store I have ever seen!

I will most definitely stop by again next time I am out here.

In my quest to check out all the spots on LI, I decided to take a lunch break drive out there and was glad I did. The shop isn't the biggest, but it is littered with an array of craft. I was a bit bummed to learn that they don't sell singles from 4 and 6 packs, but they do have a small section devoted to some singles. Plenty to choose from and from the looks of it, the real nice thing about this shop is that they aren't picked clean. I found plenty of great stuff here that was long gone in other spots on LI and ended up returning a few times since my first visit almost a month ago. I was fairly impressed with the growler station turn-over as I returned a week after my first visit hoping to get a growler fill and was surprised to see almost the entire lineup had changed in about a week's time. If you are in the area this is a must stop place as the further east you get on LI, the more of a beer wasteland it gets...but if you aren't in the area, I don't know if it would be worth it for the drive. You might find something that sold out months ago on western LI, but you might not be interested in what is there. Best to call ahead if you are making a sizeable road trip out there. Prices were very competitive and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Not the best spot on LI, but certainly in the top 10.

One of the few long island bottle shop gems I have found. This place has a huge selection of craft beer domestic (founders dfh captain lawrence) and imports (mikkiller 3f cantillon) and lots of hard to find stuff. I think they had 8 taps for growler fills mostly locals. Tons of beer in this place the owner dave said they have something like 800+ bottles. Also they have certin rare items that have to be asked for and can be tracked through the stores blog. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Will deffinately be coming back here.

Bellport Beer and Soda. I was lured here by the promise of some old batch Ithaca Brute by a fellow BA.

There's some stuff on the shelf at Bellport that is definitely past its best by date. However, for the most part, Dave keeps his stuff up to snuff and its all well organized and updated.

The service here is really the reason to come. Dave is a huge craft beer enthusiast and it shows as he's always willing to help a customer out with whatever they need. Be it a special order, or something soon to be released, or if they're just looking for some odds and ends. Dave knows it all and if he doesn't, he's more than willing to find out.

The selection is quite good for the space. Bellport Beer is one of the only beer distributors on Long Island that I've seen that actually seems to dedicate more space to craft than to BMC products. Impressive. They also almost always have the latest hard to find CCB and Founders offerings along with the run-of-the-mill widely distributed products such as Stone and Goose Island.

Certainly one of the cheaper places on Long Island. And even if you're paying higher prices on certain things such as Founders KBS and CCB Marshal Zhukov's, its still cheaper than other places offering those rare finds. Worth a visit!!

On a recent trip to Long Island it was recommended to me to stop in at Bellport Beer & Soda, and I'm glad I took the time to stop in.

Fantastic selection and reasonable prices. For around $100 I was able to pick up this:
Two Brothers - Hop Juice
Trappistes Rochefort 6
Trappistes Rochefort 8
Trappistes Rochefort 10
Avery - The Beast
Nøgne Ø - #100
Captain Lawrence - Captain's Reserve IIPA
Westmalle - Tripel
Westmalle - Dubbel
Hair of the Dog - Adam
Goose Island - Bourbon County
Goose Island - Sofie
Brew Dog - Hardcore IPA

It was great to pick up some beers that aren't distributed to Pennsylvania (Captain Lawrence and Goose Island), and some beers that I have been hoping to try for awhile.

I'm going to be sure to stop in every time I'm on Long Island.

Ok, this will probably come out like a biased review but this is a sweet little store. My buddy and I went today during the Barrier launch event and had a terrific time. When we got down there, the owner Dave was grilling kielbasa out front (supposedly shark was next)and a few dozen people were inside sampling Evan's excellent beer and milling around.

In between samples I perused the store and was thoroughly impressed. A strong selection of English ales and a nice variety of micros were the highlight for me. Eight kegs on tap for growler fills and more on the way. Busy, but friendly service. Plus, the website is regularly updated. Not at all near my regular haunts but worth heading out of your way for. These guys are trying hard for your business. Strong performance.

I was told to go here by a fellow BA because "it's the coolest beer store ever!" It just might be.

The owner, Dave, makes this place. I introduced myself as a masshole and he promptly put together a box of beers that I couldn't leave NY without (Captain Lawrence, Blue Point seasonals, Ithaca Brute, etc), taking me around the store, pointing out rarities and oozing beer enthusiasm. I left with a t-shirt and a few gifts in exchange for some homebrew I happened to have in my trunk.

The store itself has an excellent selection with a focus on craft and micros. I didn't find a single bottle past expiration date. The growler system in NY is pretty cool to a MA resident and Dave adds 6 more taps during the winter--all of which are updated on the website.

Though not close, the store is very easy to get to from Babylon. The store is fairly small but they try to utilize their space as best as they can. I didn't recognize any organization to their layout, except that their imports seemed to be against the wall. They have a good selection of Beglian and German brews and the standard selection of US craft beers that we get around Long Island. I didn't see anything that I couldn't get from the various other stores that I frequent and they didn't seem to have some of the rarer brews that I can find in the Huntington stores. The growler station is a plus and they seem to carry a nice selection which is kept up to date on their website, which is a big plus. This was my first visit to the store and the service was ok. They asked if I needed any help or if I was looking for anything in particular. I didn't find them all that engaging but it was my first time. Overall, a nice little beer store and I am sure I will put them into my rotation. I would probably pay a visit if I am in the area or if the have something intriguing in the growler station.

To find a better selection on the south shore of Long Island is not going to be easy.

A beer store run by true beer enthusiasts, stop by on a weekend and ask for Rich, the man is an encyclopedia of beer styles. Dave, the owner, has put a lot of time and effort into making this store what it is and he is not happy until you are.

Selection is outstanding, if you don't see it, ask for it, it's probably in the back. Check out Bellport Beer and be prepared to hang out for awhile, a great place to view and talk beer with fellow geeks.

This is a great little beer store. They have a great selection of craft brews. The dude who I guess owns/runs the place is wicked cool. He's friendly, knowledgeable, and loves beer. There seems to be a lot of grilling and beer tastings hosted here which are all updated on this dudes blog. He's also created the "out of towner" which is a six pack that consists of a variety of really good beers you cant find in NY. Either him or his buddies will pick beer when there out of town and bring them back for us to try. The beer is average price. Even though this place is a little far from Brooklyn it's definitely worth going back again and again. I highly recommend this place.
