Ok first of all, very cool place tucked into a rural-ish road in Hudson. Easy to miss.
It's sort of dark and dank inside which makes for great atmosphere. The beer takes up the rear maybe 1/3 of the store. They have pretty much anything Minnesotans could want from WI: Stone, New Glarus, O'so, Oscar Blues etc etc etc. And most of it comes in singles. However, not all of it does and they won't split 6-packs up.
I didn't see an employee but once. And the prices seemed a little steep. I would go back for things I really wanted, but I wouldn't make this a casual stop.

While technically 2 establishments (Casanova Liquor and Nova Wine Bar) the place really feels like one destination so I'll review both.
On one side is a restaurant/wine bar - but also is where the tap handles actually live. Though connected, you have to walk outside to the other end of the building to enter the liquor store. I did a quick walkthrough of the liquor side first and could tell immediately that the drive was worth it. The place is packed to the rafters with great beer and a bunch of brands I can't get in my home state. The growler fill list is predominantly displayed near the counter and did not disappoint.
The wine bar is very charming, with old lush sofas, chairs, and a bar area. I sat at the bar and did several beer tastings and ate a wonderful 50/50 Melt ( a patty of 50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon served in patty melt style on toasted bread). The food was a bit pricey at $17 for the sandwich and $8 for a salad but it was freshly prepared and delicious and worth the cost.
After lunch I filled up my growlers and ended up buying 3 more. They have their own branded growlers in 32oz, 64oz, and a really cool 64oz with a flip top. I had brought my cooler into the store and the staff helped me fill it and even poured the ice in for me and offered to help carry it to my car.
The bottle selection was great but the growler fill was the real draw for me with Toppling Goliath, Three Floyds, Dogfish Head, and more on tap. Fill prices were very reasonable. My only real suggestion would be for more cooler space and fewer beers stored warm on the shelves.
The drive to Hudson is quick and easy from St. Paul and just 2 turns after crossing the river into WI you are in the Casanova parking lot. The whole town of Hudson seems like charming river town and Casanova fits right in as it's an old brick building built along a bluff. This is a great place, if I live in St. Paul I'd be there every weekend restocking my growlers with the best and freshest beers.

After appealing to locals for a trip to Hudson, WI my wife and I made the stop on a dreary Thursday. Parking was tough with all the snow and ice, but managed to get a vacated spot as soon as I turned in. Walked thru the door and immediately knew I was in the right spot. Wandered around a while before asking for help, couldn't understand the layout. Store help was confused at first as well, seems recent restock? Picked up a few lagers to take back tothe hotel and the wife found her favorite Zombie Killer beer. A few were warm, but were quickly cooled in the "chiller".
Coming from the land of "state store" systems, I yearn for a Casanova down the street where "everybody knows your name". Worth the stop if you cross the St. Claire river entering Wisconsin.
