Some of the BOTMC that I'm bigtime backlogged on, need to get on some reviews. This brew is a classic hallertau smell in the bottle. Pours to a bright yellow with a big macro bubble head that stands like a champ. Smells also of dandelions. Taste is crisp as they note, not much malts but what there is, is light and only slightly bittered by the hop background and a dandelion-like floweriness. This would be a great hot weather beer to drink cold. The style is on the mark with the classic (as they note) crispness and cleaness and yes consumable. Not my favorite style but a good brew. Head really laces like none I've seen on a lower gravity brew. Hopefully this one can outlast GM. It did

bottle into a pokal.

a - pours a deep gold color with a ridiculous amount of head. had to stop and let it settle before pouring the rest of the beer. leaves some sticky lace in the glass.

s - slightly pungent hop character, some dark fruity notes, toasty malt character.

t -light toasted malt, slightly spicy, nicely balanced by bitterness. finish is crisp and clean.

m - thin with too much carbonation.

o - pretty enjoyable, especially on a hot summer day. seems to match the style well, although i'm not too familiar with pilsners.

I usually give the typical Appearance, Smell, Taste, Mouthfeel, Drinkability detailed reviews on the beer that I drink, but for the Atwater Pilsner, I will eskew my typical system, not because I disliked the beer, but more because I feel like that system is pointless for this beer. The Atwater Pilsner is exactly what it promises on the bottle: crisp, clean, and consumable. While this beer DID present itself with a subtle floral aroma and some yeasty/grainy/citrus(y) tasting notes, I felt that this beer was more of a solid, working-class mutt than a best in show. It is exceptionally drinkable, subtle, near-perfect carbonation, crisp, and exceptionally refreshing, this beer could go perfectly with nearly any occasion/meal. If I had to choose one "daily drinker" for the rest of my life based upon the beers that I have thus far tried, the Atwater Pilsner would go in the top running.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.

Head is big, fluffy, and stiff. Slight haze to it due to bottle conditioning. The taste and aroma is of lemony hops and a little yeast. If there is one fault to this beer it would be that the yeast has too much of a presence.

Hazy gold with a nice frothy bone white head. The nose is mostly herbal / grassy with some lemon notes - very much like a mass produced lager, except without the sickening sweet corn aroma. The flavor is extremely crisp and dry with some pale malt flavors, faint fruitiness, and dominant spicy hops. The finish is long and spicy. Quenching by itself and satisfying with almost any kind of food as well.
This is my favorite American pils along with Victory's Prima. Just as good or even better than any pils that I drank in Germany or anywhere else in Europe.

12 ouncer, w/o freshness/bottling info. Pours cloudy, delicate yellowy, long lasting off white head and spots of lace left on the glass. Faint, grassy nose. Crisp and quite dry on the tongue and especially lingering in the mouth during and after the finish. Nothing special going on here, just a fairly drinkable and pleasant enough lager. I get the feeling this would would go well with a variety of foods, due to the hopping level and crispness of its approach

This beer has a prodigious head of egg white foaminess and froth. Not very typical for a German Pilsner. The retention is about the best I've seen for the style and the beer billows into puffy lacing along the glass. This is also a very hazy yellowish beer with a heap of carbonation. The appearance gets a 5 for sure. The nose on the beer is mild grassy hops, some lemony scents in there, but not the typical lagery aroma. The nose is not assertive enough one way or another to get a strong sense of where this beer is heading.

And now for the taste. This beer has a very sharp bite to it, almost like super concentrated citric lemon and intense herbal weedy grass. The beer has a fairly smooth underbelly, but the sharpness is just too much, and almost has a soap in the mouth taste. There is also a dirty water feel and taste to this beer as well. Yikes! Such good beginnings and such a disappointment in the end. German Pilsners are just not supposed to be this challenging on the palate.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured an herbal hop spice and a husky grain.

The taste was clean with a crisp grainy malt and a spicy noble hop. Spicy and nasally hop finish.

The mouthfeel was toward the lighter side of the style.

Overall a very easy to drink lager.

Pours a brilliant, perfectly clear, golden color with a fluffy three finger white head. Leaves a tight knit lace and takes a couple of minutes to subside. A bubble floats up every once in while. Picture perfect of a Pils.

Light and crisp on the nose. Touch of honey and honey suckle. Typical pils smell, not much else.

Goes down malty at first and then changes and some light hop and corn and cereal grains appear. Then the corn takes over turning it into a corn beer. Finishes clean but there is still that pilsner sourness in the after taste.

Light, smooth mouthfeel, buttery, thick on the tongue. Not expected from such a light beer. Very pleasant.

A very drinkable beer, could and would have another, although, the thick body is filling. The motto of the beer is "Crisp, Clean, Consumable" and it is all that. A quality American pilsner.

A: Pale golden with a dense, soapy two finger head. Nice head retention.

S: Citrus hops and slightly yeasty.

T: The hops come through first up front, citrus and floral, followed by biscuity malts and a crisp hop finish.

M: High carbonation and medium bodied.

D: Goes down nicely, the finish is slightly bitter with what tastes like grapefruit providing some sourness.

I poured this beer into my tumbler at 50 degrees. The beer was the color of beer! How bout that! It had a white head that was very thin. The taste was grassy with a slight bitter aftertaste ansd had hints of mallasses or cane suger. It was sort of a dry tasting beer. I really did not give it much of a high point score but I would buy this again.

After reading a few reviews for this beer I found it odd that I didn't see anyone who noted the strong grape, grapefruit, and honey taste and smell this beer was packing. But anyway, great pilsner. I got it in a beer club I'm in and I will definately be looking in my local stores for this.

this pils poured a clear gold, a large head and nice sticky lace, lots of bubbles floating up foreshadowed the carbonation

smell was buttery in the front, grassy and a hint of lemon. got more and more caramel and fruit as it warmed

taste was very buttery aswell, bitter and crisp. grassy and bitter fruit followed, and a pretty dry hoppy finish

m - crisp, quite a bit of carbonation had a definite bite, light to medium bodied, fizzy in the mouth

easy to drink for sure if you can handle the carbonation and bitterness, the flavors seemed a bit subtle, but the beer got better the more i drank it. i kept swirling and sipping it searchin for what was in there and before i knew it....it was gone

Served in my Warsteiner Pilsener. Poured a translucent pale, yellow-gold with a two inch frothy head honeycombed with holes. Head retained decent consistency and left behind cloud-like bands of lacing as it receded and the brew was consumed. Copious tiny bubbles are evident in solution and adhere to the sides of the glass. Nose is somewhat grassy with a hint of lemon peel and a touch of skunkiness. Taste consistent with nose, but also a little bready, followed by some citrus astringency and a light, lingering bitterness at the finish. Very light-bodied and effervescent without being biting. Not really my style, but was very easy drinking and would probably pair well with almost any meal.

pours a clear yellow golden color with a short foamy white head and leaves a light sheet of lace to the finish. grain malt with a medicinal aroma is what i get. taste peppery, herbal, slightly bitter hop finish. light mouthfeel with a crisp tight carbonation matched nicely with that peppery taste. easy to drink beer with a slightly differant pilsner taste.
