(served in an American pint glass)

S- this beer has a clean soft dark malt note with a roasted black hint that comes thru as the beer warms.
T- This beer has a bright apple flavor with a light chemical dark malt hint. Light roasted bitter hint with a tartness.
M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a big fizz finish and no alcohol heat.
D- This beer has a smooth light flavor but a bit thin. The apple flavor grows and covers all other flavor.

Deep brown, thin head but, good lace.
Aroma of raisins, dates and caramel.
Taste was sweet, malty, rich dates and caramel - it followed the nose.
Feel was medium carbonation, full body and well masked alcohol.

Aroma is bread, roast and hops. Taste is surprisingly bitter for a doppelbock, with hints of caramel and cereal. Finish is hoppy, not what I was expecting from a doppelbock.

Not a big lager fan, so my rating isn't entirely fair. But, if I really needed to drink a lager style this would be a good choice. Picked this up in the bargain bin at my local six. Probably not the freshest, but a decent offering for this style.....I think.
