Perhaps it's not the world's best balanced porter, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it and as a Canadian with rare allotments of border crossing beer cache, not at all sad to have a bought a 6 pack.
Pours a thin cola colour, as other reviewers have suggested, but has some head and is sufficiently carbonated to be a decently drinking beer despite the thinness. Aroma is pure vanilla and caramel, although I distinctly remember a coffee bitterness in earlier bottles that I can no longer find in this ~3 month old remainder. The flavour is also not particularly well balanced, but a lovely dessert beer with great vanilla and caramelized malt notes. It is sweet, but that makes the mild bittering hops more distinct and it has a pleasant finish - no syrupy sweetness in the end.
Have never been to Atwater, but hope to make a stop on next beercation in that area.

Purchased a single 12 ounce bottle poured into snifter.
Appearance Looks like black coffee, minimal creamy slightly tan head
Smells like a vanilla java coffee drink, very good smell. Has some chocolate smell rolling around in there also.
Taste is very good! Vanilla lots of it! Java coco bean. Roasted malt. Burnt caramel ,
Mouth feel Slightly medium light , lots of tiny bubbles . Good beer mouth feel . after taste is pleasant , Kawfee. Vanilla sweetness coats your lips ,sorta sticky.
Overall I would buy a six pack of these for sure again. It is an easy drinking beer, Great for all us third shift Zombies who crave a beer with our breakfast. I think this is my second or third porter style beer, It would be a great beer to introduce to someone who has not Tried a Porter or a stout Before because it is pretty solid but not too overpowering in the flavor department which can turn some people off.
