A: pours out jet black with a thin head that dissipates quickly. No lacing at all.
S: this brew is all about vanilla whether it be the smell or taste. I get a tad of coffee notes in the background but mostly the brew smells of vanilla and sugars.
T: vanilla overpowers the other ingredients in this beer. I love vanilla but this is a bit on the too much side. Get some malt backbone on this beer and sweetness on the finish but dont pick up much coffee taste at all. Finishes a bit on the dry side.
M: i think this beer is on the light body side, a lot thinner than i was expecting from a porter. Low carbonation throughout the tasting.
O: i'm a bit biased because i love vanilla but this was an unbalanced beer. Too thin in body, needs more coffee and malt base to balance it out. Not sure i'd buy another 6 pack of this.

A: Pours jet black with a cream colored head that disappears quickly. However, this beer has lively fizz.
S: Caramel, hints of malt, little bit of chocolate, slight bit of coffee
T: Lots of vanilla and coffee up front, with a bittersweet chocolate note in the middle, and a dry espresso-esque finish at the end. A nice one with a creamy sweetness from the vanilla.
O: This is a great tasting porter that has some interesting twists from the vanilla extract and coffee.

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a deep brown color with a big billowy tan head. The head fades fast leaving a lighter level of lacing.
Smell – The aromas are heaviest of roasted malt and chocolate. Mixed with these aromas are some coffee and a sweeter vanilla aroma. While it is a little light in coffee and vanilla it is a nice aroma overall.
Taste – Sweeter flavors of roasted malt and a semisweet chocolate meet the tongue. These are quickly greeted by a vanilla flavor and a very light coffee flavor. The coffee gets stronger in intensity, although it never gets close to as strong as the roast and chocolate. In the end the taste is largely of a sweeter coco malt with ever so light flavors of coffee.
Mouthfeel – The body is on the creamier side with a slightly higher level of carbonation level. The thicker body suits the sweeter malty and roasty flavors well, although the higher carbonation takes a bit away from the creaminess.
Overall –Not a bad brew, it has good flavors but does not really live up to its name as a “vanilla Java” porter.

Pours a dark black with a thin-head into my glass. It's certainly dark enough to pass as a porter.
Just a hint of vanilla bean and chocolate in the nose. Roasted coffee too.
Mild semi-sweet chocolate mixed with a touch of roasted coffee and cream.
Mouthfeel is full of lingering coffee and cream. Very slick too. I love the flavor as much.
A decent vanilla java porter with plenty of vanilla but precious little buzz.

Near black pour, a few large bubbles, no lacing. Strange indeed. Scents of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee, as expected. Taste is unexpected for a porter, its rather light, lacking in body, though it has a pleasant vanilla and later coffee taste that lingers.

Appearance is a very thin tan head that quickly recedes. This stuff almost looks like Coca Cola in a glass. The color of the brew is a jet black. Smells of vanilla and coffee beans as you would expect. Nothing more to the smell other than that. It tastes literally EXACTLY like a Medium-Dark coffee would. Lots of java, Lot's of coffee flavor, With a hint of chocolate and a TON of vanilla. In fact, This beer is so delicious that I didn't even want to swallow it. I wanted that vanilla flavor to last forever. The mouthfeel is pretty thin, No other flavors come through other than the ones I have stated. Over all I was very impressed with this, I figured I'd end up giving the 6 pack away. And hell, I got these beers for free so it was an absolute steal. Though one thing I would like to mention is that my experience with this beer has been different with each bottle. This review was written after I had drank the best one in the six pack
