Another surprising beer that I wasn't expecting.
Such a refreshing taste, perfect for summer. About a 1 inch head, one finger. Lots of carbonation flowing continuously.
A light and spicy beer could easily drink three or four of these on a hot summer day.

I drank it from the bottle, so I can't comment on the look.

It has a citrusy/orangeish smell mixed with a light beer fragrance. Light beer taste, with a heavy citrus flavor.

Good on a hot summer day, and for those who might not like beers.

Frankly, this reminded me of Blue Moon, though with a cloudier and slightly darker look. I bought this in a mix 12 pack in MIchigan and was disappointed in the collection as a whole. The orange taste was not particularly potent to my tastebuds.

Just cannot handle the sweet, nauseating (coriander and orange) flavor profile of this beer. Not as bad as Blue Moon, but close. I guess I am just not a fan of this particular iteration of a wheat ale.

12 oz bottle poured into a stange glass. The aroma is light, mellow, floral, biscuity, and waxy with a touch of coriander and citrus. There's a light haze to the orange yellow beer, topped with a white, filmy head that has moderate retention and lace. The taste is a medium sweet and medium light bitter. It's thin and oily with a fuzzy carbnoation and a medium body. The flavor is a bitter, spicy orange with a moderately lengthed finish that's zesty with a honey sweetness and leads to an aftertaste that's lightly waxy with bread notes.

Absolutely love this beer. I drink this very often with my family since it is my mother's favorite. Great beer during the summer, really tasty and flavorful. Very citrusy and tastes great with an orange slice.

Look: hazy bright gold
Smell: citrus, earthy, spice, bread
Taste: a tad malty, light peppery taste, definitely taste the citrus, tad grassy
Aftertaste: a bit of a light hop aftertaste due to the citrus and lighter tones
Overall: pretty okay, would have again

The label has a mm/yy 'Bottled On' indicator. I was able to find an Apr '15 in Columbus, OH, on April 24, 2015. The beer poured into a pint glass with a very thin head, however, it was consistently fed with many streams of small, bubbly carbonation.

The orange is very prevalent, and the coriander is not overdone. I will definitely buy again!

I normally live this one, but the bottled on dare lists July 2014! Why do "reputable" liquor merchants continue to sell old beer! Hopefully the next time I pick these up, I can rate higher

This one pours a perfect blonde color with a thin and rich white head. The head settles leaving a thin lace.

The nose is earthy and grassy with hints of bread, camphor and apples.

The taste is peppery hops n a dry malt bed with some pine, lavender and vanilla in the mix.

The mouthfeel is rich and satisfying with this particular style.

Overall a very drinkable and enjoyable beer.

Enjoyed from the can in a pint glass. This blonde ale pours a lightly murky blonde with a moderate white head that dissipates quickly to a light ring and little lacing. Nose of lemon zest, orange zest, wheat, and light sweet bread. Flavors follow the nose rather simply with lemon zest and orange appearing to the back followed by a light coriander bite, a mellow wheat flavor is also present on all sides. Drinkable standard American Pale Wheat. Perhaps a step up from Blue Moon as a decent session ale after a nice day of mowing the lawn. All in all, nice without being overbearing on the citrus flavors with a smooth flowing mouth feel and light carbonation. Solid ale.

I like this and didn't think I would. Smells like cheap beer, but is smooth going down. Mellow flavor, this would be a great beer for newbies. Not the best I've had, but not a bad choice if you want something lighter.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled in 9/2014. Pours lightly hazy bright golden color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, coriander, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, spice, and earthy hop notes; with decent strength. Taste of lemon, orange peel, coriander, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight earthy herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange peel, coriander, wheat, cracker, bread, straw, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Good balance and robustness of pale malt, spice, and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very solid spiced pale wheat ale style. All around good balance and robustness of pale malt, spice, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Appearance - 4/5
Pours a hazy orange yellow. One finger of head. Can see a slightly less than average amount of carbonation rising through the beer.

Smell - 3.5/5
Smells of orange and coriander. There is a slight breadiness as well.

Taste - 3.125/5
Tastes pretty much like the smell although there is a slight metallic flavor as well and there is also a strong metallic aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - 3.5/5
In between light and medium bodied. Carbonation is fairly light. Beer is pretty smooth.

Overall - 3.5/5
This was an okay beer. Nothing special but not terrible.

a generic blonde that tastes pretty good on the whole, and satisfies just fine when youve already been drinking all day, but probably cant hold its own against even the upper middle class of craft brewed blonde ales. its thicker, heavier, but that has its merit too. i like its uplifted carbonation and its thin sweetness. medium tinny middle though, and an old semi-stale hop complexion thats underdone and missing something. still, its refreshing in the right context, not as good as others from these guys, but a decent brew. i always find it a little weird when a brewery can rock out a barrel aged imperial brew, but cant dial in a real basic thing like this one, it almost seems lazy or complacent rather than incompetent, and maybe thats a greater offense...

Fruity malty nose, some spice, orange
Hazy gold, 2” off white head dissipates to a film
Palate: a mixed bag blend of Kolsch and Belgian Wit that gets confusing. Has the orange and coriander but not the yeast character of the Wit, has a hint of Kolsch yeast, and enough wheat to evoke an American wheat ale but the result does too little with too much.
Medium to a little above on the carbonation, medium body.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – The beer is served a lightly hazed golden-yellow color with a tiny white fizzy head. The head fades quite fast leaving only a light level of foam on the sides of the glass.

Smell- The aroma is heaviest of a lightly toasted wheat smell mixed with a little bit of orange and lemon. Some more yeasty and grassy aromas are there as well and are mixed with the aforementioned as well as a small amount of a floral aroma.

Taste – The taste begins with a light wheaty and slightly cracker flavor with some orange sweetness. A yeasty flavor develops later on in the taste all while the orange flavor dwindles with it being replaced by a little bit of lemon and grapefruit. Some grainy flavors as well as a bit of a grassy hop come to the tongue at the very end, leaving a rather crisp and light wheat flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is very light in nature with a crisp feel and a higher carbonation. For the mix of wheat and citrus as well as the lighter abv. of the brew, the thin body and high carbonation are rather appropriate for make for a nice crisp and refreshing brew.

Overall – Not a flavor powerhouse, but a good sessionable drinker on a nice warm summer day. An alright brew overall.

From a bottle to a pilsner glass.

A: light gold very transparent. Light wispy head and no lace

S: strong citrus aroma to this one like oranges and grapefruit

T: not as flavorful as the smell might indicate. Still picking up citrus notes but it's mild enough that it's hard to pick out which fruit.

M: light mouthfeel, very easy to drink.

O: A sold beer if you have been working outside all day and need a refreshing brew. Of you looking for a flavor bomb try something else.

12oz bottle into as pint glass.

Not sure what happened here. I guess it's called 'dirty' because it has a cloudy appearance, and muddled aroma and taste. Smells like a wheat beer, with hints of some spiciness, nothing special though. But the flavor...let's just agree that it's got all the stuff you'd expect and some more. Feels weak and watery, medium body, some carbonation. I am not impressed. I've had other Atwater offerings, and this is by far the worst I've had, and does not represent the overall quality you should expect.

Sorry guys, it just wasn't good.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottled April 2014.

Actually bought this by mistake, had some memories of a beer with similar name that the missus actually enjoyed. This was not it.

Hazy dirty blond color with some dark floaties. (The coriander?) Thin head, minimal lacing.

Only getting a little belgian yeast on the nose. No spices, no orange peel.

Did get a faint touch of spice in the mouth, along with the yeast. No other taste at all.

Mouth was really disappointing. Extremely watery. No orange taste at all, and struggling to find the coriander.

Overal, a pretty unispiring beer. Refreshing on a very hot day, perhaps, cant think of any other positive reason for buying it.

This is a cloud pale gold with a small head that quickly fades to film. The aroma is unpleasant... very vegetal. Ugh, flavor follows the smell, except also doughy, limpid, disgusting. Glad I only bought one of these. Probably the worst beer I've had in at least a couple years.

With a bright citrus taste and a malty rich underpinning, this dirty blonde beer lives up to its name as its hazy gold hues cast over the session with bright acidity and bready texture.

As the light and effortless ale lays on the front of the mouth, its mild candy coated sweetness is slightly of orange cream soda. From that pulls the citrus and tropical tones that seem like cream sickle, sherbet- equipped with nectarine and dried apricot.

With little wavering, its bready-sweet middle is like shortcake as the fruit sweetness piles on. The mild tangy balance from hops deliver elements of verbena, sassafras and alligator pepper to counter the lingering malt sweetness and heft.

Still, the ale resists much fade to dryness or crispness in finish, relying on the continuation of confectioners sweetness, cake-like malt texture and light aid from hops and spice. All this gives sweeter and richer impressions to side with those with a sweet tooth.

Favoring a sweeter finish, the ale appeals to fans of fruitier and sweeter ale. But its reluctance to dry in finish limits its drinkability and refreshment. Its fruity center does however make this dirty blonde an irresistible choice.

Pours a hazy golden with a frothy white head.

Peaches, tangerines, wheat, and a crackery dryness form the aroma. Fairly subtle.

Flavor reveals a soft wheat backbone, somewhat water, and subtle yeast esters. There's an overwhelming peach character that at least adds something discernible.

Body is moderate to a touch light, with fairly high carbonation.

More fruit-forward than I expected. Certainly not the most complex profile, but a drinkable beer. Could use more wheat and malt character, along with some hops.

I was a little disapointed in this beer. i am a big fan of Atwater brewry and had high hopes for this one.

Pour was good. little head, light orange very cloudy, looked good.

smell was ok. defiantly got orange right off the bat, a little corriander background.

the beer was a little colder than it shoudl have been, flavor was good, smooth drink, i am very disapointed in the body. Very thin feel that does not pack a punch, goes down smooth but left feeling underwhelmed.

i give this a 3.0. i would not buy this beer at the store for enjoyment, however i would have again if offered at a gathering where it was accessable vs. the Buds and the Millers.

Had on-tap at Boat Works in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

I got this after the keg of the beer I did want blew. I didn't exactly want it, but I hadn't had it, so why not try it. Dirty Blond has an orange juice sort of color with a lot of haze. Nice little head on top of it. Decent lacing. It looks pretty good. The smell and taste are almost the same, but the smell is a bit better. This tastes like I imagine a combination of Bud Light and orange juice might. This has a sort of flavor that doesn't shout "QUALITY"... it tastes somewhat cheap. But, it's inoffensive and easy drinking. The mouthfeel is quite nice on this brew, which is good, because I'd not recommend this beer if it weren't for that.

The main problem I have with this beer, as stated, is that it tastes cheap. There's not much of a hop presence at all. I taste sorts of corn and cheap grains and such. Not bad, not particularly good. This would be a fine option for people trying to step into craft beer, as it's inoffensive, tastes like it could be a Shock Top sort of creation, and there's virtually no bitterness.

Average at the very best.
