Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. This beer has a murky amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma is mostly malt. The taste is more malt than hops and has a slight bitter aftertaste. A really good brew from Atwater.

This is not what I was expecting, and I love a surprise like this.
It's darker golden almost orange - not your usual IPA. More like an imperial red. The aroma gives away what is coming in the taste. It smells hugely malty.
The taste is much maltier than any IPA labelled product I've had in a while. It's a deep, chewey malt. The hops are completely overpowered - maybe this is an old bottle, but I like it. Let me check for markings ... I can't tell, but I'm pretty sure it is - very old. That explains the hops being missing, but it's an interesting malt bomb.
The aftertaste is bitter and sweet - like a barleywine.
I'll take it - a probably-too-old bottle from a usually reputable dealer (Saveon), but a very interesing and unique taste.

L: A copper amber pour with a slight haze produces a 3” white to cream colored persistent, lacy foam cap. It takes 4 minutes to reduce to ¼ its original size.
S: Spicy, light biscuit, topical fruit, wood and green aromas rise from the glass. Hop aromas medium to medium high, clean fermentation character, malt aromas medium.
T: Big tropical fruit flavors featuring pineapple and citrus on a light malt backbone. Just above medium bitterness balances medium high hop flavors and medium to medium low malt. Lingering interplay of fruit and bitterness.
F: Lush and creamy texture with a medium body and carbonation.
O: Very well balanced and put together with rich, satisfying flavors.
