This place is definitely deserving of all the hype. Just got back from a long weekend trip to Asheville, in which I made 3 stops into Bruisin'. Absolutely amazing selection. In Georgia you can't pour and sell at the same site, but not an issue in NC. Bruisin' made the most by having Pisgah Vortex I and Weyerbacher Heresy on tap, I was blown away. So, while sipping on some Vortex I I completely overloaded my cellar. They have a little bit of everything, and most importantly, a vast selection of all the regional brews, and choice growlers of those regional brews. I was able to find a bunch of things I have been wanting to try, and had to remove myself from the store before I overloaded the car. Had the pleasure of meeting both Jason and Julie, who went out of their way to help me locate anything and everything. Bruisin' Ales has to be the ultimate "kid in a candy store" scenario for any Beeradvocate that has the pleasure of stopping by.

Pretentious atmosphere, tried to get a workers attention but he was posted up flirting with some girl. Prices are also more expensive than other stores around. Did not feel I was "worthy" to be in their presence. Appalachian Vintner was much friendlier and cool.

Great location but overpriced and the staff was not very friendly. They have a lot of bottles but the store is very small so it gets crowded fast. Prices are a few dollars more than the other large bottle shop in town.

The selection was alright, it was a small place and a pain in the ass to find parking. I have had people tell me for ages about how great this place is. I wasn't all that impressed. I know of two stores that have a much better selection and are not all that much bigger. One is Peabody's in Boone and the other is Sam's Quick Shop in Durham. Overall, if I was in Asheville staying downtown and needed some beer for the room, then I would go here, but, I wouldn't go out of my way. Unless I missed some other room full of beer. I asked for a few things I figured would be hard to find and they didn't have them. I found the same beer I was looking for down the road at Appalachian Vintner.

Cozy place in downtown with a good selection and growler fills. It's a small place but well located.

Super friendly staff. It has an impressive selection of locals and other beers from all over. The staff are extremely friendly, and ready to lend a helping hand. I could not be happier that this is my local beermonger.
