This place is definitely deserving of all the hype. Just got back from a long weekend trip to Asheville, in which I made 3 stops into Bruisin'. Absolutely amazing selection. In Georgia you can't pour and sell at the same site, but not an issue in NC. Bruisin' made the most by having Pisgah Vortex I and Weyerbacher Heresy on tap, I was blown away. So, while sipping on some Vortex I I completely overloaded my cellar. They have a little bit of everything, and most importantly, a vast selection of all the regional brews, and choice growlers of those regional brews. I was able to find a bunch of things I have been wanting to try, and had to remove myself from the store before I overloaded the car. Had the pleasure of meeting both Jason and Julie, who went out of their way to help me locate anything and everything. Bruisin' Ales has to be the ultimate "kid in a candy store" scenario for any Beeradvocate that has the pleasure of stopping by. (948 characters)

Not as large a selection as Tasty Beverage Co., but a large selection in its own right with lots of imported and local brews, both six-packs and individuals, as well as bombers and an extensive glassware selection. Also, the cutest little dog roams the shop seeking attention. (276 characters)

The first place that I went in Asheville was Bruisin' Ales, and I was not disappointed. A relatively small shop on the main strip of Asheville and not far from the highway. It cost me $1.00 to park.

It is easy to find the local beers of NC and everything was well organized. Wicked Weed, Fullsteam, Burial, even several breweries from NC that I had never heard of. There was only one person working and they were very knowledgeable and helpful when asked upon, but otherwise let me go about my business. Great selection! I was able to get a good mix of what I was looking for without knocking out my budget. (616 characters)

A pretty good beer store in the downtown Asheville area. I had a work meeting near this place, and so it was a good chance to checkout craft beer selections from across the region. Prices seemed fair for the area. Plenty of local selections, but also some of the bigger ones like Dogfish Head among others. They had an interesting selection of belgian brews, and craft imports, but I did not look at those. They also had a good selection of ciders and meads.
They also fortunately ship, which was cheaper and safer than checking a bag. Don't be afraid of this option. It was fairly straight forward.

I would highly recommend if you are in the area, if for nothing else to check out the local options. (705 characters)
