Wow what a beer store. They have more quality and selection packed in their little store than most with 10X the square footage. Great emphasis on local beer. Plenty of local growlers for sale. I live less than 10 miles from Catawba Valley brewery but I can only get growlers there on Friday evenings. Yet at Bruisin Ales you can get them any day of the week. Also they are the *only* bottle shop to carry several local seasonals and one-offs. The owners are super nice and took the time to show me around and talk beer on a very busy Friday night. They are a million reasons to go to Asheville. There are hundreds that are just beer related. Bruisin Ales is worth an Asheville trip by itself. Best beer store I've been in to date.
I rated the value at a bit pricey because it's a little more than my local shop. But when you consider the selection and rarity of some of there beers it's well worth it.

Pretentious atmosphere, tried to get a workers attention but he was posted up flirting with some girl. Prices are also more expensive than other stores around. Did not feel I was "worthy" to be in their presence. Appalachian Vintner was much friendlier and cool.

Great location but overpriced and the staff was not very friendly. They have a lot of bottles but the store is very small so it gets crowded fast. Prices are a few dollars more than the other large bottle shop in town.

The selection was alright, it was a small place and a pain in the ass to find parking. I have had people tell me for ages about how great this place is. I wasn't all that impressed. I know of two stores that have a much better selection and are not all that much bigger. One is Peabody's in Boone and the other is Sam's Quick Shop in Durham. Overall, if I was in Asheville staying downtown and needed some beer for the room, then I would go here, but, I wouldn't go out of my way. Unless I missed some other room full of beer. I asked for a few things I figured would be hard to find and they didn't have them. I found the same beer I was looking for down the road at Appalachian Vintner.

Cozy place in downtown with a good selection and growler fills. It's a small place but well located.

Super friendly staff. It has an impressive selection of locals and other beers from all over. The staff are extremely friendly, and ready to lend a helping hand. I could not be happier that this is my local beermonger.
