Served at a local (Atlanta) Fall festival, this beer seemed to be well liked by the crowd, but not by this reviewer. I should point out that I dislike many wit beers, although there are some I like a good bit.

Served with very ample (3-4 finger) head that had very good staying power. Beer was dark golden and a bit cloudy.
Aroma was too much like a fruity macro-brewery lager.
Taste was too sour and yeasty.

D - I was quickly eager to move on to another beer and didn't finish this ~12oz cup. The Five Seasons Golden Ale that followed this was much better; the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale after that was better yet.

A wonderful weekend in Atlanta led me to spend two days within waling distance of this fine pub. Getting to try everything they had was an adventure, but was easily accomplished. Consumed on 07/24/09 and 07/25/09.

Appearance - The pour was very nice here. Dare I say spot on for the style and nearly complete. Hazy golden yellow with a huge billowing head of white on top that reached a height of nearly three inches. Broken and rocky top to it just added to the overall look, which again was superb. Rich side glass lacing and a very full look I have to say I was impressed seeing this one come at me.

Smell - Aroma of light banana and light apricot notes. Light spice and a hint of grain as well. This was exactly what it should be. Light with a light touch of fruit. Nothing crazy here at all.

Taste - Very nice again. Starts off light, with a quick hit of light fruit. Small touch of banana and light grassy notes as well. Finishes very clean with a really smooth, mellow profile and a light kick of hops.

Feel - A bit thin, but otherwise pretty darn good I have to say. Really nice carbonation and a smooth, even profile.

Drinkability - Easily drinkable, this was a nice session ale. I am really not a big fan of the style, but no matter I could still find this one very enjoyable and would not have an issue at all with putting down a few.

Overall - Very solid indeed and one that I would not mind at all by the pool or a hot summer day. Definitely something to be said for this one in general.

It pours a beautiful, barely transparent dark amber. The aroma is strong, wheaty and malty, with a definite citrus component (but some of this may have come from the orange slice served with my drink). Flavor is rich and malty with some definite citrus hints, more lemony than orangy, and just a little bitterness. Finish is crisp and smooth.

Appearance: Cloudy, pale orange-gold body with a small, bubbly off-white head.

Smell: Soft wheat aroma with plenty of coriander and orange peel. Faint yeastiness.

Taste: Initially, the flavor is of wheat grains with an accompanying fine measure of sweetness and just enough of a hint of oats to make both Wilford Brimley and the Quaker Oats dude proud. The coriander and bitter orange peel jumps in midway to temper the sweetness. Finishes dry with a follow-through of the orange peel note.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Probably one of the better witbiers I have had (considering that wits are not a style I'm often enamored by).
