A-Cloudy orange amber color with 1" offwhite head. Very nice sheet lacing.

S-Some light grass, no real citrus.

T-Good malt at the start with a nice drying sharp finish. English style IPA attributes.

MF-Medium carbonation with a thin to medium body. Pleasant.

D-A nice balanced English IPA. Definitely sessionable.

The tiger pours a clear golden-peach body beneath a dense head of creamy off-white foam that holds well and leaves nice lacing about the glass. The nose is malty with a light touch of caramel to it and some softly grassy and floral hops. The flavor reflects that as well, with a welcome, easy-going blend of malt and hop that's very English in nature (although Patrick has told me that they're going to be switching it up to more of an American style, which should mean more flavor all around, but particularly more hops). The delicately grainy, lightly biscuity malt appears first, and then the yeasty fruitiness and hops appear. It's not particularly bitter in terms of an IPA, but this is English in nature, and so that makes sense. More hops appear towards the swallow and into the finish. Well balanced and drinkable!

On tap @ the brewpub on 10/3/09. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a deep coppery amber, with a 1/2 finger of creamy off-white froth. Sticks around with a rich flareup, leaving some thick rings of lace back. The aroma is spicy and fairly piney, with a thick underpining of citrus and bready caramel. All of the flavors are discernable to me, but there just isn't a whole lot of pop to this in the nostrils. This gathers strength a bit as it warms yet this just never seems to get a chance to cut loose.

The taste fairs a better, with a resinous and spicy bitterness up front, that is fairly well balanced by a tangy backbone of citrus, bread, and caramel. Unfortunately the hops just seem to rapidly die off in the mouth, leaving maybe just a touch of residual tang and spice behind in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, maybe even a bit lighter, with a moderate crispness to the carbonation. This is maybe showing its alcohol a bit more than it should.

You know, this was OK. I remember having this a couple of years ago at the New Hope location and was less then thrilled with it. Unfortunately, this didn't change my mind a whole lot. Even though this appeared to be a bit more English in its presentation, the hop character just isn't impressive at all. I barely finished my pint, I was so bored with this.

On tap in Philly.

A: The IPA is golden, a bright coppery orange. White head in tow.

S: Citrus aromas waft out, a sharp bitterness (especially as compared to the bockbier that proceeded it). Citrus and caramel, that is all.

T: The citrus hoppiness provides a nice initial punch, enough flavor to register in a positive manner. As that hoppiness fades, the ale goes for the mean, caramel and bitterness in the normal kind of way. The booziness, not overpowering, makes itself known from time to time.

M: Mouthfeel is okay, enough carbonation and hoppiness to make me happy. Accessible but not earthshaking.

Pours a nice golden orange color with small cap of bone white head. Scent is understated - piney and citrus hops and a decent carmel malt background. Taste brings a little more aggressiveness then scent dictates, but still not overly hoppy or bitter... citrus, tropical and piney hop notes, carmel malt and grahmn crackery sweet backbone. Nice creamy medium body, carbonation kept in check. A solid beer that lacks aggressive hop charachter expected in an IPA.

First had: on tap at Triumph, Philly, PA

Not a bad selection. Poured a slightly hazy golden with a dense finger of creamy head that retained decently and laced just fine. Light caramel malts and grains in the nose, supplemented by grassy hops. Toasted bread taste, more lightly toasted caramel, grassy, with minor citrus tones. Pretty smooth, with a light-medium mouthfeel. Decent and drinkable.

On tap at the brewery poured into a pint glass. Pours a deep red color, with an unimpressive head. It's a bit flat on the tongue, and slightly off or sour to the nose, but the taste is a knockout with a hoppy depth that you'll come back for. Dark nutty, grainy flavors. Mild coffee undertone. Heavy, herby pine and resin hops flavors. Red Wine and oak overtones. Medium amber and red hues. moderately sweet and bitter, while lightly acidic. Average duration of aftertaste. Dry, lively, and astringent.

Pours a clear golden-amber color with substantial off-white head; head stays for quite some time and leaves a very nice lacing on the glass.

Caramel malt aroma, followed by some light grassy notes and a rather pronounced citrus hop aroma. Nicely balanced; not overwhelmingly hoppy.

Flavors the same, incredibly nicely balanced, and hoppy like an english IPA, not overpowering like many American styles. Nicely done.

Medium bodied and smooth, very drinkable, especially on a warm summer day. Just a bit high in the ABV to be a session beer, but still very good.

From 08/04/12 notes. Had on tap at the Philly brewpub. Served in a pint glass.

a - Pours a hazy, medium orange color with one to two inches of fluffy white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of citrus hops, caramel malts, toasted malts, bready malts, grains, and wheat. Some decent citrus hops up front, followed by a ton of malts.

t - Tastes of caramel malts, citrus hops, earthy malts, bready malts, toasted malts, biscuit, wheat, and grains. Again, a lot of malts, and more caramel than the nose. A slight step down.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. No bitterness and pretty easy to drink.

o - Overall a decent beer, though much more malty than hoppy. Little more hops in the nose, but the malts dominate in both the nose and taste. Not a bad beer, but not something to get if you're looking for a hoppy beer.

On tap at the brewpub in Philadelphia. Pours a cloudy dirty orange with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus hops, orange peel, and melon. Flavor is not outright hoppy but has a nice hop bite and light fruits. Somewhat bland but good too. Full mouthfeel. This is not great, but it is underrated for sure.

I had this on-tap at Triumph Brewing Company in Philadelphia, Pa. It was served in a pint glass.
Appearance: The body is a cloudy orange color. The head is two fingers tall and white with stupendous retention and great lacing.
Smell: The aroma is mostly grapefruit hops.
Taste: The taste is the same as the aroma.
Mouthfeel: This is a very crisp drink.
Drinkability: As one might deduce, there is not much complexity here, but as far as drinkability, I would say pretty darn good.
Don't drink and review.

On tap at Triumph Philly on 6/13/08.

A - Hazy muted orange/golden body with almost two fingers of bone white head that left some very intricate lacing around the glass. Carbonation was very minimal.

S - Aroma was heavy on toasted and biscuity malt for an IPA, with a citrus hop profile and some mild burnt hops in the aroma. Bit of an alcohol twang as well.

T - Pretty malt-forward IPA with plenty of toasted malt and sweet caramel. Very mild hoppiness for an IPA with a mild citrus hop bite.

M - Smooth, creamy texture with perfect amount of carbonation, resulting in a nice full mouthfeel. Mild bitterness on the palate. There's also a bit of a warm alcohol presence.

D - Nice drinkability, although not as hoppy as I was anticipating. Still, this is a tasty brew that's more on the English side of the IPA spectrum.

A: Really light gold. Looked like a cheap lager.
S: Smell was actually one of the best from a beer I've ever had. Really nice floral scent with this one. Roses mostly. Reminded me of a walk through a garden.
T: The floralness really comes out but there isn't a lot of hop bitterness which I was looking for. Drank watery.
M: Sat light with a lingering bitterness.

Overall I was dissapointed with this beer. The floral scent really showed itsself in the flavor but that was about it. It drank almost like a lager and tasted way too watery. A pretty weak showing.
