At 7.0%, this was a fairly drinkable beer for the amount of alcohol. Came with a nice head of foam. Brownish color with hints of amber.
The flavor is a nice smoke. Unfortunately, the bock gets somewhat lost in the mix of flavors. That may be personal preference, but I would like a nice mix if it isn't a straight rauchbier.
Very nice overall though.

Had this at the brew pub in Philly. Has a somewhat cloudy dark amber color. Nose has lots of smokiness. Reminds me of a winter cabin fireplace. Lots of smoke in the taste, too. Can be overwhelming but I don't mind.
Will try the imperial stout next.

Dark brown body with a light tan head. Starts off with a big bacon and beef jerky aroma with a woody background. There's a mild toffee and biscuit with bock melanoidin flavor in the background of the meaty taste. I like this because the smoke and beer flavors are reasonably balanced, unlike some beers that are all smoke or too little smoke. My only complaint is that at times the flavor lacked a bit and felt like it could be more complex.
