This was a time killer before Eulogy opened across the street but still one I wanted to check out while on business recently. This turned out to be about the most contemporary brewpub I've been to. Its clean, somewhat throw-back 60's look meshed well with the brick, missionary style wood decor and asian themes. If none of this makes sense to you, check it out on the website if you really need to know what I'm talking about. The second floor brewing system can be seen from the downstairs bar. I've never seen brewing equipment so fashionably displayed behind glass. Large bar downstairs seating 20 or so. Uniform steel taps pouring out 6 or so brews. I had the Maibock. I think either the lines needed cleaning or something funky was up with this brew. The metallic flavor was seriously unpleasant. My colleague had the IPA and had no issues with it. Nice menu though we didn't eat. I may give this place another shot next time I'm in the area, but if the beer quality remains the same the next visit will be my last. Pleasant bartender who knew Monks and Eulogy well and along with everyone else whose been to either, agreed they were top notch.
