375 ml glass bottle poured into flute-style glass at around 5 degrees Celsius.

Look: Clear golden, slight orange, small head with little retention. Almost no lacing on the glass.

Smell: Very subdues, light scent of specific hops and malts. Smells like a lightweight drink.

Taste: Very light, some mild hop and malt. That common "pilsner" taste is evident and comes on near the middle of the drink. Finishes very slightly dry with subtley mild, but noticeable, hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Tastes like a lager beer, moderate carbonation, nothing too observable.

Overall: Very easy-drinking. It's a light-tasting beer with some pilsner qualities. Not bad in any way, but not special in any way. Still kind of has that cheap beer taste but not awfully horrible like some others. A nice refreshing drink in the summer or if you're in the mood for a crisp and easy-drinking beer. I would drink again, but wouldn't go out of my way to get one.

The label classifies it as a "blonde lager brewed in the pilsner style". I'd say that's not far off the mark. It's light like a lager, with some pilsner notes.

I've tried Rousse, Original, houblonée, and pilsner from Belle Gueule, and it's probably my favorite so far.

Brewed by McAuslan Breweries craft beer division of the Brasseurs RJ parent.
Light straw coloured, crystal clear.
Hops are not very prevalent to me except in the (as the company labels it) 'surprising' aftertaste; moderate bitterness.
Noticeable floral aroma.
Smooth, crisp, pure malty palate.
The quality grows as the glass diminishes.

Appearance: A pale yellow body that boasts ample stead carbonation and a decent finger and a half of head. Some decent lacing came out of this one, but the head didn't stay for that long.

Smell: A faint whiff of grassy hops with some mild straw malt that that's about it. The straw comes across as a little bit ripe, but it's minor. The main issue here is that it's faint, less so that it's not the nicest thing.

Taste: Starts with a bit of sweet corn and straw malt that shifts to a bit more of a creaminess that I would consider more a characteristic of cream ale before a light dusting of hops sweeps it all away.

Mouthfeel: It certainly has good carbonation that helps out the entire beer, and it has a decent range of sensations that it does well. The creamy smoothness I find out of place for this style. The after-taste has a bit of staw malt cling that stick around for just a little too long.

Drinkability: Refreshing and easy to drink and easy on the system, but my biggest issue is that it drinks more like a lighter lager then a crisp, concise Pilsner as it comes across as on the lighter end of medium bodied. I also want to call it a summer drinker, but it's just a bit heavier then I'd expect and not quite interesting enough to give it enough interest.

Final Thoughts: This beer drinks like a mid-way point between a proper Pilsner and an imitation pilsner (like say Labatt Blue). It doesn't have the hops or crispness for a proper pilsner, but it certainly does better then most who use (and abuse) the name. That said, this beer drinks as an alternative to Macro Lager. It's decent, but I wouldn't seek it out again.

See through straw color with a small white head. Metallic smell, with some bread and malt notes. In the mouth you get cereals and bread notes with some floral hops. Nothing impressive here.

It'd be silly to do so in a formal sense, but so far as my reviews are concerned, I've started to regard Quebecois adjunct lagers as their own, distinct sub-category of style. And, to me, they are the best tasting of subset of adjuncts, even if they don't quite reach the heights of Schlitz and Grain Belt.

This does not seem to be a Czech pilsener in the slightest--the hops aren't Saaz, and there's plainly some adjunct in the grainbill.

It pours medium dark with a white, retentive head. Smells earthy, grainy, and herbal: cereal, corn, hay, and bit of a Ricola. Tastes like it smells--a very nice melange, assertive but quaffable, firm but not too sweet. The finish contains some mild, pleasant esters as well as a surprising rush of hop dryness.
