2.1/5  rDev -21.1%

341ml bottle

A - Straw yellow, very reminiscent of urine, very little head that quickly dissipates.

S - a little yeast, and sweet grain. Corn or rice. No hops.

T - like the style. Some rice, grain, clouded by a medium carbonation, leaving a slightly moldy aftertaste.

M - Not bad. Medium-light body. Easy to drink

O - I'm glad it was free.

Honestly the beer is cheap. In montreal we have 15 bottles for 16,99$. So I wanted to give it a try. As a average consumer this beer could taste better. The price is good but they could have a better finish on the beer. The taste is almost exactly the same as the Pabst Blue Ribbon. Like I won t notice really a difference and the price of the Blue Ribbon is cheaper as the Tremblay, so sorry Brasseur RJ but it will be the last bottle of beer that I would buy because if it taste the same as the Blue Ribbon I would buy the Blue Ribbon.
So would I recommend it ? A big NO !

660ml Bottle - from Marche Omni

Appearance – Clear yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation showing and there is some fair lacing. The head lasted for 2 or 3 minutes.

Smell - Grains, bread, corn, malts, lemon

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an average amount of carbonation. I can taste malts mixed with light hops and a touch of citrus. There is also a bit of corn/grains and a grassiness. It ends with a lightly floral aftertaste.

Overall – This beer could stack up against most of the imported euro lagers for sure. It's got a pleasant drinkable taste and has a nice appearance in the glass. I won't rush out to buy more, but it wasn't a waste of money either.

A very ordinary beer. Nothing bad about it, but nothing in any way remarkable.

Clear light gold colour with a generous head that quickly gives way to a ring. No lacing worth mentioning.

Only the merest whiff of hops or malt. Finishes bitter with a hint of lemon citrus. Not watery, but undistinguished mouth feel.

Take it or leave it, but don't be looking for anything interesting.

A: very pale yellow color with generous pure white head.

S: Can't smell anything much except maybe some corn and malty sweetness. Some herbs too.

T: Taste was ok. Nothing spectacular. Made me think of a beefed up budweiser. Corn is there and is actually nice, bringing some sweetness. Malt is also present as expected. Very low hop levels though...

M: Surprisingly very good. Carbonation is mid to high and has a very creamy feel to it, not watery at all.

D: as with any macros, drink is high since taste is weak and doesn't have much aftertaste.

The first few seconds that ensued after the pour looked promising. The beer was, indeed, a golden 'blonde' and an ideal level of pearl white head was sprouting over the top. But inspection to the light revealed a lifeless, bubbleless body that had been concealing an off-putting lime-tinted tinge. It was seconds before the foam parted to a mere half-crescent, and minutes until it would be gone almost entirely.

Tremblay certainly sticks to its roots as a macro styled lager by maintaining lots of corn adjunct in its aroma. Purists of the style will be content to find no trace of hops or yeast. The label insist it is produced only of "an all malt grist" ... but doesn't specify what exactly comprises the grist. Based on smell, my money says corn must be a good portion of it.

The beer succeeds again for its style in being nearly flavourless. The malt is lightly sweet. I'm looking for some kind of hop but can't turn up anything. Some element of adjunct, the taste of corn syrup, will show up for the brief moment it spends on the palate. Once swallowed, however, most flavour goes with it.

Of the macro lagers I've tried, this doesn't taste much different, but is lacking most of the unpleasantnesses. The corn flavour is light and no element of the beer imposes itself onto you. If you're like me then you appreciate a few hops and some bitterness, even with your 'simple drinkin' beers. But I don't think pale macro lagers will ever really be for me...

I've found Quebec's pale lagers, on the whole, to not be quite as bad as those in Ontario; and this one is certainly more than tolerable for its style. If you're someone who drinks commercial lagers then this very well should be something you'd enjoy.

As for me, I'd like to drink this but not as much as I'd like not to drink this. Perhaps it was its French "biere blonde" moniker that led me to higher expectations with this one, something more Belgian maybe? Do not make the same mistake I did - this is your average, run of the mill, macro style lager. Brasseurs RJ make some good beers, but this is not necessarily one of them.

A clean pale yellow beer. Has a small fizzy white head the fizzes away quickly. The aroma has a light grain character with a light grassy note and a hint on lemon in the background. There is a light prickly carbonation on the middle of the tongue with a hint of a light biscuit grain at the start. But the taste turns sweet on the finish. Not to my taste

My father often stocks this beer, so I have had many. I often choose it because it is much less watery, more of a real beer flavour, than the macro beers with which it often shares a fridge.

A- Very clear golden colour. Decent initial head but goes down quickly.

S- Not strong. Slighly floral with grassy odour and ethanol.

T- Strong hops flavour. Tad floral. I find the after taste a bit much on this beer.

MF- Light, a bit thin. Carbonation a bit high.

D- Aftertaste and carbonation make this a beer I rarely feel like having many of in a row. Sometimes I feel the need to cut through the aftertaste with a bit of salty food.

Bottle: Poured a clear yellow color lager with a nice bubbly head with average retention. Aroma of crisp hops is clearly identifiable and enjoyable. Taste is light and refreshing with a solid malt backbone for the style and fresh crisp hops at the end. Above average for the style and glad I got the chance to try this one fresh.
