pour golden copper with a head that disappears to fast for my liking
aroma of malt and caramel
smooth but a little to much caramel sweetness for my liking
leaves my mouth with sweet stickyness
very drinkable but not my kind of beer.
im not impressed by it but im sure others like it. (284 characters)

Gold amber brew with a medium head. Small hopps taste. Nothing distinctive about this one. I had this a couple of year back and the spice taste was much stronger then the one I had recently. This is more of an everyday beer or for a hot summer days beside the pool. (265 characters)

Straw golden, minimal head. Cereals, light citrus and hops in nose. No surprise in mouth, it tastes pretty much what it smelled with an okay bitterness. Nothing Special I believe this to be my least favorite from the line. Is it me or those beers have been downgraded lately? (275 characters)

341ml bottle poured into a pint glass

Appearance - pours a clear golden yelow colour with a huge foamy off-white head. There is lots of carbonation and there is a decent amount of lacing left on the glass.

Smell - Hops barley and yeast. Also a sweet corn smell.

Taste & Mouth - Low carbonation on the drink, which is surprising because it looks like there is lots. Comes across as slightly watery. Starts off somewhat dry with some hops and a breadiness and finishes light and refreshing.

Drink - An average beer, probably not something I would buy again. (560 characters)

This lager pours a clear coppery colour with a thin head..The body is full. The taste is very smooth mellow and refreshing.
Very sweet to the palate with a slight hop finish..I would recomend this beer to those who prefer a sweeter product.
Not a session beer. (262 characters)

Bottle- Charred golden colour with a decent white cap. Aroma is biscuity malts and some grassy/floral hops. Good hop bite albiet a bit watery with the malts and sweetness. Mineral bread finish. I'm willing to give this one a second chance if I see it again. (257 characters)

Light golden with a nice off-white head and good carbonation. Smooth malty aroma and flavor; nice graininess and light nutty character. Medium bodied and smooth.

A solid lager by Canadian standards and one I would gladly go back to...

Very popular in Quebec so why not give it a try.
About smell Im a little disappointed, doesn't smell that much.
Nice gold color, light carbonation, and taste is a fruity caramel.
This beer is much better than those Budweiser, Molson Dry and some cheap beer.
For me the price is a little bit hight compare to Sleeman.
So would I recommend it ?? On special Yes.. As I said the price is a little bit high and to find a 12 pack hard to find it,, so if you find it on special go for it. (484 characters)

A: Really nice color, a yellow-orange color but very brilliant, with a well formed head that dissipates slowly, bubbles are small, compact and many.

S: This is the poorest part, barley is sensed but is not too intense or complex.

T: It is a pleasant tasting really malty as a lager should be but somehow a short flavor.

M: A really little sweet at the beginning changing slowly to a faint bitterness that last in the tongue and something in the throat, not to intense the sweet nor the bitter.

D: Refreshing tasting with a satisfactory sensation combined with the flavor makes a good combination. (600 characters)

Had on tap in Montreal (Bobards). Pours a clear faint gold, shiny white head, looks like a lot of carbonation, lots of bubbles. Scent is really non-apparant, a bit of grain, not much else. Taste is pleasant, some malty sweetness, mouthfeel is dry, crisp and drinkable. Overall, not bad, average and nothing special. (315 characters)

pours a clear light orange body with a good size head. smells lightly malty, bready, and a tinge on pils like hops. light flavor overall, easy and smoth. little bit of spice to the hops, well ballanced. Overall just an average pale ale, but beats the hell out of any maco light or maco regular. (294 characters)

Good, clean lager with a strong taste and smell that I found to be quite appealing. (83 characters)

Best before end od September 2006. So it is 3 weeks past due. Didn't notice anything off with it and tasted pretty much as I remembered though.

A- Golden amber. Medium head that dissipates. OK bubbliness in the beer. Very clear, no cloudiness.

S- Sweet malt with a slight floral odour. Mild. Somewhat ordinary beer smell overall.

T- Floral and grassy hops bitterness. Mild malt flavour. Like a particularly good macro or slight cut above.

MF- Ordinary, average beer feel. Nothing great.

D- Quite easy to drink. Would ge OK with most food. Not bad, but a little lacking in character. (597 characters)

I was rather surprised to see a 6-er at my local LCBO, and recall having it years ago when visiting Montreal.

A - Pours a nice dark golden colour, thin layer of head with little retention and no lacing.

S - Sweet corn, light caramel undertones, very bready with hints of pilsener-like grassy hop notes.

T - Reminiscent of a more flavourful mass produced lager like Canadian, but loads more bready malts and the grassy hops are also coming through quite well. Sweet corn lingers alongside a leafy bitter aftertaste.

M - No complains here, easy drinking and smooth.

O - Tasty ale, and given the style its fitting and offers up a solid dose of flavour for what is otherwise a fairly tame style. I would certainly prefer this over some other mass produced lagers. (764 characters)
