12 oz bottle on lees.

Amber-gold with a 2-finger head which dropped pretty quickly. A little yeast in the nose. The body comes through light and sweet. This actually leans a little towards a cream ale in it's flavour. Familiar wheat and yeast touches that show it's allegiance to the other Cheval Blanc brews. Soft in the mouth with medium-sized bubbles that aren't too energetic. This is nice and smooth. A solid wheat ale.

This is made by Brasseurs RJ under the Cheval Blanc banner. The label depicts the Copper Redhorse (a fish...). Royalties from sales of the beer go to the Fondation de la Faune du Quebec, a wildlife preservation fund.

Presentation: Rescousse (French for "Rescue") is bottled in the usual 341ml brown canadian beer bottles. 5%ABV , Copper redhorse fish on the label.

Appearance: Reddish orange and very cloudy ale. No doubt about the wheat presence. The two-fingers head dissappears too fast.

Smell: Wheat. Some hidden fruity smell too.

Taste: Wheat is the first thing you think when you drink it, but the taste is more complex rather than the usual wheat ales.

Mouthfeel: Interesting mouthfeel.

Drinkability: I am not really in the wheat ales, but I like the fact they choose it red vs white style. This red wheat ale is a good surprise for me. Bonus points for the good cause.

Nice orangey body from which develops a bready aroma. Malty caramel in mouth, I wish there were more. I don't really feel any wheat short of the faint acidity. Quaffable, slightly tart and pleasant, but far from complex nor surprising. Good cause though. Congratulations for the innovation (I believe) and good luck.

Bottle - Pourred a ruby-ish brew with a nice head that left my glass way too soon. Wheat taste is apparent but not present enough for my liking. Also, I find that the body is bit shallow/thin for weizen. Seen better from Cheval Blanc but A+ for good cause.
