Large store, expensive and boring.

The guy behind the counter didn't know much about beer. I left this place without a lot of hope I'd find what I was looking for. I went to the main strip and found Mountain Spirits, it had a great selection and the prices were the same as in the city or almost which was a surprise after leaving this place.

This is my go-to shop while in CB during the summer.

Fairly large store with a decent selection of both beer, wine, and liquor. The largest liquor store in CB. Colorado breweries are well represented with their 6-pack selection. Can easily find common offerings from Odell's, New Belgium, Great Divide, Avery, etc. Also have cooler space dedicated to bombers, mostly common offerings from Avery, NB, Sierra Nevada, etc. For CB, it's a pretty diverse selection compared to other options.

Prices are a little high, however this is due to location. It's a bit of a haul I'm sure to distribute beer up to Crested Butte. For what you would save in cash by buying in Gunnison, you would spend on gas driving back and forth.

The staff don't seem to be super knowledgeable about craft beer, however they are helpful if you have a special request. I do really appreciate that fact.

Stopped in here once while on vacation in CB. This place is located right in the small shopping plaza at the entrance of the town, near the large inn. This place beats Mountain Spirits and the Wine House with selection and style. It's a nicer looking store, and this the only one of the three liquors stores where I found 22 oz bombers. Carried most of the same six packs found elsewhere, but a bit more variety. While it's not a beer nirvana you might find in a major city, it seemed to be the best bet in CB to pick up some decent craft beers.

Acme liquors has the biggest selection in town of microbrewed 6 packs (and it is also easily the biggest liquor store in town (very large wine selection as well). They seem to have all the basics from the Colorado breweries, as well as Sierra Nevada, Stone, Anderson Valley, Deschutes, etc. Acme's singles/bombers selection is slightly more pedestrian, and they never seem to stock special releases or one-offs (at least in the bomber size). They do carry seasonal six packs, and I have found Odell single batch releases there.

Prices are good and the location is very convenient (right as you roll into town next to the grocery store and some of the PO boxes). Acme is probably the best place to stop in town if you are looking for a 6er or two to enjoy. If you are looking for something special, consider stopping at Mountain Spirits on Elk , or the Wet Grocer or High Mountain Liquor back in Gunnison.
