A clear, dark copper beer with a creamy head that settles into a small layer of dense foam.

Smell is lightly roasted with molasses and a full caramel malty addition. Some notes of bottom fermentation that has a light sulfur hint.

Taste is heavy on the caramel malt with nutty, malty notes. Roasted malts are mild, but leave a malt bitter taste. The beer is a bit sweet and sticky. A dry malty aftertaste.

500 ml bottle acquired at an REWE store in North Berlin, Germany, on June 3rd, 2011. Reviewed live at me friend's gaff in North Berlin, on the same day. Me bottle shows clearly that the ABV is 6.7%, NOT 6.5% as other reviews may state. Poured into a non-tapered Guinness pint glass.

A: A nice downward bubble show. Pours a three finger head of pleasant nice cream, great thickness, and very good (~3 minute) retention. A textbook copper colour.

Sm: Very light scent; I damn near inhale it but me broken nose can only pick up light malt and maybe some cream. Even barley doesn't come through. No alcohol comes through in spite of the slightly high 6.7% ABV.

T: Hoppy but a bit simple overall. Some amber hops, maybe a sprinkle of off-souring hops, nicely handled barley, and a light hint of malt. A bit bland in its simplicity, but it can fairly be considered balanced.

Mf: Smooth and wet, but coarse where it counts (e.g. the climax). Only partially complementary of the climax.

Dr: Dirt cheap in Germany, but more than acceptable for the price. A great beer to get cunted* with, but not a good beer to taste. The ABV is concealed quite well.

*If you're a P.C. Yank, put down your Salem broomstick. In Ireland, we use this word in a very different way.

A: Pours clear copper with a rather large tan head. Slow dissipation leaves decent dissipatons.

S: Sweet dark malts, dark dried fruits, molasses and faint bitter hops.

T: Sweet, very sweet. A bit harsh, but not bad. Some bitter hops and lots of dark dried fruits.

M: Long sweet aftertaste, somewhat bitter. Body is full and carbonaton full.

O: Rather nice Bock. Considering the low prize - even better.
