This is a long overdue review as I had finally hit up Deep Ellum on 5/22.
A nice sunny Saturday afternoon in Boston, this is pretty easily accessible via the T (parking is a bitch). The windows at the front were open, several tables were dispersed down the right hand side, two big tables on either side of the door sitting right in the window. The bar runs almost the entire legnth of the establishment. Thet also have a back patio, two tables on the first landing and then another 5-6 tables on a second floor.
Nice offering of beers here - selections of IPA's, Pils, APA's, Porter's and a Geueze on tap. Mikkeler, Southapmton, Cambridge Brewing, Mayflower were just a few of the brewer's on tap.
Food was downright tasty. It's not your typical bar food, but it meshes with decor, ambiance, and well - what I was in the mood for that day!
Service was a touch slow at first, but our waitress was fantastic. She'd spend a bit talking to us, made recommendations, and was over all just downright cool.
I can't wait to hit this place up again!

Unless you're from the area, Deep Ellum is not easily found nor easy to get to, but it is worth a trip for some unusual beers. I was impressed that they had several German beers on tap in addition to the usual blend of domestic craft brews. All of the beers were of high quality and many were not commonly available. The range of beer styles ensures that there is something worthwhile for every palate.

The small, long and narrow bar is located on the corner of two very busy streets: North Beacon and Cambridge. You need to be alert as it does not have much of a street presence. From the door, there's a bar for about 20 on your left and a single row of tables on the right with the restrooms and kitchen toward the back. The decor is relatively plain and unremarkable. While I did not have any of the food offered, I would describe it as fancy bar fare. My neighbors thought their food was good for what that's worth.

The service was more or less indifferent. The bartenders would come by within five minutes of an empty glass to offer a refill. Although the bar was full, no one seemed to be harried. At each end of the bar were two unwatched TVs with no volume. The general feel was friendly and convivial.
