Bottle from the lcbo for around $6. Way too much carbonation.

Copper/amber in color with a nice off-white head and some carbonation visible. Aromas of bananas, cloves and sweet malts. Interesting taste, it tastes like a sweeter and heavier hopfenweizen but it's not too sweet. Not bad at all.

600 mL bottle; one of four featured in Beau's' 2015 Oktoberfest mix pack. Marketed as a 'dunkelhopfenweiss', which is presumably Beauspeak for a dunkelweizen that has been overhopped and spiked with sweet gale. Dated Aug 24 2015.
Pours a translucent chestnut-amber colour, boasting an ample crown two fingers high which is comprised of a puffy, light tan-coloured foam. Excellent retention; it seeps away slowly and unevenly in places, settling into a lumpy, creamy cap and collar combo accompanied by some marvellous lacing. Looks great, but the aroma is a bit muddled, with nothing really standing out for me. Grainy wheat malt and caramelized sugar sweetness are both non-intrusive background presences, with subtle notes of banana bread, resin, herbal/floral tones and clove spice.
The first sip starts out with a wheaty malt flavour; lightly toasted bread and some brown sugar sweetness is joined by fruity flavours of banana and date. The hops start to shine through by the midpoint - particularly the Cascade and Centennial, which combine for hints of pithy grapefruit, floral astringency and some earthy, resinous notes in the back end. There's a flash of clove spice and herbal myrtle at the finish, leading into a bitter aftertaste that lingers. Light-medium in body, with moderately lively carbonation levels that result in a mostly-smooth mouthfeel. Fairly easy to knock back, getting marginally tastier as it warms.
Final Grade: 3.76, a grudgingly-deserved B+. I'm not smitten with Boghopper, but I'm glad I had the chance to try it. The North American hops are a little too dominant here for my preferences, with the astringency likely to rub some people the wrong way - particularly those who were expecting something a little more, well, dunkelweizen-esque. Amping up the malt backbone would do this one a lot of favours; this dunkel simply lacks the richness of flavour and mouthfeel that the top tier German examples possess. I don't mind this beer, but its variety of disparate elements do not achieve much cohesion overall, so I doubt I'd seek it out in the future.

Bottle: Poured a murky amber color weizen with a medium size foamy head with good retention. Aroma of light banana bread notes with sweet wheat notes and light hoppy notes. Taste is also a nice mix of banana bread with some sweet wheat malt. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but yeast ester are not up to par with best in style.

Light brownish orange colour, one finger of sturdy off whit head, good lace. Smell is spicy and fruity, nutty and dark breads, a bit of cola and anise, clove and a faint banana as well, some plastic points at times. Taste is spicy up front, cloves, cola, earthy, dark breads, carmel and banana, mildly bitter finish, sweetish fruity aftertaste. Medium carbonation, creamy medium body. Even my hatting ass can't say this is a bad beer, in fact its quite the opposite, interesting and satisfying, well done.

Pours a murky amber colour, thin layer of head with some retention and no real lacing. Burnt sugar, caramel and cloves on the nose. Bananas and cloves, caramel and leafy green hop notes. A tasty brew that is well worth seeking out.
