Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass, colour is a light orange gold, very clear with a nice cap of white head and good lacing.
S- light florals, lavender and lemon, also a distinct yeasty character, almost dunnage but with the florals it is quite light and appetizing.
T- pale malts, cleans to some lemon spice, full floral character, thick yeast in the middle then it falls off, leading to a drying, banana bread like finish. Has a pleasant lightness to it, pale malts are matched with some yeasty earthy(coriander and clove) notes and some orange pith, all around taste is full, and pretty satisfying, finish could be more balanced and crisp.
M - quite sessionable with the light floral and bright character, yeast does full out the body pleasantly and suitably assertive carbonation, a bit sticky on the finish for the style though.
Enjoyable saison, though geared more to be flavourful and sessionable rather than complex. Enjoyable and pleasant flavour, though the yeast really doesn't act to elevate this too much, and the finish is dry, some hop bitterness, didn't pick up much elderflower until I noticed it on the label, might help explain some of the jammy floral notes, these get more cloying as the beer warms. Good beer, just not a great saison by my measure, fairly one dimensional, but drinks well and is quite refreshing.

A- Pours a somewhat hazy (chillhaze?) and is a golden color that has tinges of copper and metallic yellow in the background. The head is super thick and pillowy-cloud like, starting out about 3 fingers thick and very slowly settles into a full finger film over the brew....this puff is just slightly off white in color....very impressive! There appears to be many columns of carbonation rising to the top in steady streams that lumber to the top! As for the lacing, well there is plenty of stickiness that clings to the side of the glass in vine like shapes....a thing of beauty. Overall this is a very good looking brew!!
S- There is a medley of aromas that hit my nostrils in quick fashion! Belgian funk, as in spices (clove, coriander, pepper....perhaps some cinnamon), floral notes, grassy grains, fruity tartness (banana, apricot...wild berry), bready yeast and sharp wild strains at that. The finish is Earthy and mildly bitter. Smells like a Belgian style beer for sure!
T- The flavors are much more mellow than the aromas let on, but there are hints of everything mentioned above. Floral zest, spicy characteristics that are of more clove, coriander and peppery notes, grassy grainy notes of wheat and barley, fruity characteristics that border on both tropical and citrus and a finish that is also both refreshing and tart. The yeast is there but loses its funk in this department....perhaps the only let down on my palate!
M/O- This is rather light in body and I will tell you what, the carbonation is fast, furious and very zesty. This does allow the beer to remain crisp, clean and mildly flavorful, which I'm sure isn't quite what Beau's was going for, however, it definitely resembles a Belgian Saison....I suppose it just cant quite emulate what the terroir of the native land can offer. It is still a highly drinkable brew that I would recommend and think it makes quite a nice patio beer, such as the name suggests! Give it a try if ever given the chance! Good job!!

600 ml bottle served at cellar temperature into a pint glass. Purchased for $6.50 CDN as part of the Best of Beau's 2015 pack. Batch 4669 and brewed October 26, 2015.
Appearance - bright and rich golden color, tremendous two fingers of white head and incredible retention. Clear with lots of carbonation. A great looking beer. Marginal lacing left behind.
Smell - Belgian yeast, fruity esters, specifically banana comes to mind. Some pepper overtop of a floral aspect as well. Nice aroma.
Taste - mildly sweet, a powdery component, light bitterness in a grassy and floral background. Easy drinking if not the most uniquely flavor farmhouse ale out there.
Mouthfeel - smooth and well carbonated, with drying finish. Good for the style.
Overall - a fine saison. while maybe not warranted in being a "best of" it certainly a good saison that will be agreeable for most even with a couple extra months of age on it.
