The colour is orange-gold, the liquid is opaque and filled with small fine bubbles. The two fingers high head is uneven and off-white. Some lacing occurs.
The elegant smell is loaded with fresh bananas and banana candy. Tart notes and some caramel.
The taste is clean with some sourness. Ripe bananas and banana peels. A clean, light bitter flavour gives balance to the caramelized sweet notes. The quite dry smooth aftertaste got notes of banana peels, and pleasant phenolic hints of soap. The finish brings a mellow caramel sweetness.
Small very fresh bubbles tickles the tongue, the carbonation is strong. The liquid is very smooth.
A splendid hefeweizen. Compared to my reference Weihenstephaner, this one succeeds in being rougher and smoother at the same time.
