Dropped in on a Friday afternoon. I have been to the ones farther west in town, but never the downtown location. Very open place with a long bar and a fair number of tables. It was about 2:30 on a Friday so the place was far from crowded. We sat at the bar and were helped immediately. Lots of locals regionals on tap including Terrapin, Sweetwater and Yazoo. Nothing super rare on tap but they did have Terrapin Wake N Bake which is not something you see very often. Beers were all served quickly and we ordered some nachos as well. Quick food and decent tasting. When it was all said and done we just split the check between the four of us. $17 a head after 4 beers and a plate of nachos...seems very reasonable to me.
I probably wont frequent the place because I really dislike fighting with downtown if I dont need to, but it is right up there with the Flying Saucer in my book if I do find myself downtown.

Visited over the holidays
I only had time for one bar in Nashville, so I picked the Broadway Brewhouse based on its location and the comments of other reviewers that they carry locals. The atmosphere is ok - very appropriate for Nashville, with lots of wood, big booths, tables and a packed bar. It was a bit rowdy for our visit, so don't go expecting a calm evening
The beer selection was also just ok at best - prob 40-50 taps, but half of them are crap with a handful of locals (Yazoo, Jackelope, etc) and some bigger micros like Schlafly and New Belgium. Not the deepest menu, but I was happy to try a few local beers. The quality was not very good - my girlfriends beer showed signs that it had been through dirty lines, and all beers were served cold and in pints. This is not a craft beer establishment, it's a bar that serves craft beer.
Moving on to things that I hoped could redeem the place as worthy of my limited time. The service was also kinda "meh" - kind of short with us, throwing silverware, etc but it's something that I chalked up to the environment and the fact that it was busy. I will not however be able to find an excuse for the food - I went with a grilled cheese and chili plate seeing as I thought it fit the bar and the outside weather. My meal was extremely mediocre, and it's a combination of lower-quality ingredients and the lack of any attempt to spice it up.
As I'm sure you have figured out, I was pretty disappointed. I'll probably try to check out other places next time I'm in town, but if I do come back, I'll stick to drinks.

Broadway Brewhouse is a great place for beer lovers to check out. Whether you are beginning a night out in downtown Nashville or attending a concert or Preds game, it is a good place to go for dinner. It is on the edge of the entertainment district of Nashville. The brewpub has a great selection of beer on tap, including many small local breweries such as Mayday and Jackalope. The brewpub also loves spicing up bar favorites with jalepeno pepper but usually paired with a sweet sauce to cut the heat.
