Full flavored lager that's crisp when cold and pleasantly malty when it warms. Good stuff.

Presentation: Some canuks canoeing on a wild river on a 12 oz. beer label. Sounds like a blast eh?

Appearance: Perfectly clear, yellow-straw in colour.

Smell: Imported lager smell, slight (very) hints of toasted malts.

Taste: Sweet with a mouthful of malt and chewieness. Clean bitterness that evolves into a crisp dryness.

Notes: A very serious serious beer, and a delicious lager. Too bad it is so hard to find this label in the States. (5% alc./vol.)

Draught in Toronto.
A: Bright yellow with a thin white head, and little lacing.
S: Aroma of malt and light citrus.
T: Taste of malt, black pepper and a hint of lemon. Not complex.
M: Weak body.
D: Unimpressive overall, and average lager that is pretty forgettable.

The appearance has a medium golden hue with zero head. This beer had a grainy-malty smell and had a corny-grainy-biscuity flavor, if that makes any sense. The beer has a medium body, and is quite filling

Overall, if you like traditional Canadian Beer, this is definitely worth a try.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one and a half finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a light husky grain with a touch of balancing hops.

The taste was well balanced and suprisingly malty considering the set up. Doughy finish with streaks of honey sweetness.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness and slightly creamy.

Overall a suprisingly well balanced lager with some decent body. The rare joy of an all-malt lager.

Sampled off tap, a local dive bar just off campus at the University of Toronto. Pours a standard golden colour - no bubbles, no lace, very thin head that comes and goes. Aroma is almost non-present, which could be a good thing. Mouthfeel average, some creamy texture finishing on a lightly sour note. The little malt present in the taste stayed fairly clean. The drinkability is fairly good all things considered.
Not to attack the beer itself, but after looking around an entire junction of downtown Toronto, and this being the best beer I could find offered, is a very sad thing.

I had a pint of this at dinner tonight, it looked ok when it came - a light amber color and small head. The smell was a little pungent, and quite strong. At first taste it was ok but as I went through the glass it got worse and worse. Had a strange chemical quality to it that was the most distinct flavour. It was a light bodied beer that was at least pretty drinkable.

I've always liked the Upper Canada line and, although this isn't one of their better ones, it certainly isn't bad.

It pours a light yellow with a surprisingly large, but quickly vanishing head. It's got a slightly floral boquet and tastes a bit hoppy, and slightly bitter.

Upper Canada Lager is an excellent beer for a hot summer day.
