Sampled at the Portland, Oregon, Rock Bottom.
Morrison Street Stout is a seasonal stout. Rock Bottom changes its style throughout the year. I had the cream stout version brewed for the summer. They also brew an Irish stout for spring, an oatmeal stout for fall and an imperial stout for winter.
The cream version is dark, but not so dark that light can't get through. It has a nice roasted aroma with an off-white head.
This sure fits the title of cream stout. It's very smooth with a malt aftertaste. It's not as sweet as Mackeson XXX, but is still quite good, as my rating indicates.
Serving type: on-tap

Finally swung in the brewery on Morrison St. here in Portland. Evidently this is the summer cream stout
A: deep fire red crimson with oily black edges, transparent though. Good head retention and lacing as well. The cap is colored much like a whipped mocha top and lace is anywhere from slabs to sheets of sticky goodness. Looks like a healthy stout
S: stale coffee, dried cocoa powder, but most notably are the roasted and lactose creamed whiffs
T: I find this has some nice dimensions. It has a good roasted grain foundation with a dry creamy type of feel. I am not sure if the dry flavor I describe is a result of the coffee or cocoa, maybe both? In any event, it prizes itself on it drinkable dimensions and it works. Nothing really stands out but its straightforward profile. Take a big gulp and let it sit on the tongue and you might gather some light sweet banana fruity notes
M: feels like a dream. Very smooth and hardly any carbonation. However, right off the pour, I found that it was served to cold for consumption. After settling down and letting warm a touch helped the flavors. Very smooth
D: I could easily hit a few of these and keep my bearings, tasty and smooth says enough
