Poured a cloudy amber with small white head. Aroma was of grapefruit and cirtus hops. Flavor was not well balanced at all, bitter hops was all. Light body not good at all. Rock Bottom in Bethesda, MD has a great selection of beers, but this is definitely not one of the better ones.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the Rock Bottom in Bethesda, MD.

Pours a slightly-hazy orange color bordering on copper. The nose brings some citrus, orange, and light pine notes as well as some pale malt. The taste is slight brad and caramel with some moderate hop bitterness from orange and pine. Medium body with good carbonation. Nose is particularly hoppy, but the rest is only moderately good.

Beer served in a shaker pint. ABV 5.5% by menu, what do I expect. They must miss their target ABV on every batch giving the beers some wiggle room on the charts.

Beer is orange and really hazy. Kind of a turn off. Head is thin and white made up of small bubbles. Lacing is left on the glass but again it seems undercarbonated in the appearance.

Beer smells like malt and some citrusy hops, there is some earthiness to it and maybe some pine.

Beer is relatively smooth and creamy, nice feel to the whole thing. Drinkability is high, medium to light in body. Some citrus flavors and some sweetness up front about it. Overall a nice beer.

A very hazy pour, with decent lacing and a minuscule head. The aromas were quite faint, which I found to be disappointing. Decent tasting beer and served fresh. There is a slightly bitter astringency in the taste of this beer that degrades the drinkability and overall enjoyment. Not a bad brew, but basically, it's bland, average, and non-offensive.

I like this Pale Ale. I think its served too cold so I usually let it sit on the table for a spell. I realize that I'm a very inexperienced beer reviewer, but I still think I perceive a difference in aroma and flavor after it sits & warms up a bit. Either way, this Pale is a tad less hoppy than Sierra Nevada or the Pale @ Killarny House. Mild start with some hop at the finish...smooth. It is very drinkable and compliments their lineup well.

This brew produced a rich frothy head, which was primarily white in color. The body is golden amber, and is very clear. The aroma is dominated by the hops, but the toasty malts do come through a bit. Though this is medium in body, it seems to literally melt in my mouth... Very inviting. It actually went pretty good with Rock Bottom's Triple Chocolate Stout Cheesecake. Give this brew a try.

A slight orange hue to this beer with an off-white head and good lacing. I smell fruit and some toasted malts. It's not as biting as others within this style, but it still has the right texture and drinkability. Higher in malt content than might be expected, but still a fair level of hops and citrus bitterness. As the beer warms, a more refined taste begins to come out; fruit flavors especially citrus. A very interesting beer and good example of the style. I enjoyed this beer with some chips and it was very good. An enjoyable pale ale.

Brew poured a very yellow-amber color. Good clairty and carbonation. Very little nose - faint hint of hops.

Taste was more similar to a mass-market lager than a pale ale. Very malty with a distinct taste of rice. Very unpleasant. Hops were noticible only by their absence. A stong "rice" flavor domminated the brew.

Mouthfeel was very unpleasant due to the off-taste in the malt. Beer can only be drunk quickly - this is not one to savor.

Think RB aimed a little too low in the bud/coors crossover brew.
