On tap at the Rock Bottom in Minneapolis, MN.
Appearance: Clear golden yellow with a decent sized white head with good retention and lacing.
Smell: Strong aroma of floral hops followed by some citrus and a bready background.
Taste: Strong bite of floral and citrus hop bitterness. Some bready malts in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with a medium to high carbonation.
Overall: A very good pale ale. Up there with the best.

Pretty orange amber with a bubbly, clingy light lacing. Nose is like walking floral but lighter than the cask ale. Im expecting a huge moderate hop flavor but when I put my lips to the glass Im surprised to find a very mellow, very balanced light brew. Sounds like my review of the cask, but here is where things change...
The mouthfeel on the tap version is a bit more bitter, a lot more bubbly, and a heck of a lot less drinkable. I'm turned off by the bite and the muddled carbonation.

(Served in a nonic)
A- This beer has a hazy orange body with a thick off-white head that last and last.
S- The smell of green earthy hops has a faint note of cat pee, but in a very nice way. There is a faint pale malt note in the background.
T- The taste of light toasted malt quickly give way to a green pine hops that has a faint blueberry note to it. The hop bitterness at the finish last and last after each sip.
M- This beer has a medium-full mouthfeel with a watery texture which has its own fullness to it.
D- This beer has nice complexity to the malt with interesting qualities that I don't often notice in hops.

A good pale, looks like their copper ale though turns out to be more hoppy. A minimum of head yet also lace. Some hop aroma that delivers better than promised. More drinkable than their dry hopped, their version of the Hazed and Infused. Possible the best of their regular lineup.

On-cask after a Vikes games. I'm not always a fan of cask pale ale, with most of my experience coming from Town Hall, but this was a very solid brew. It was a mostly clear straw yellow with a tall, thick white head. The aroma was rich with juicy orange, tangerine and grapefruit hops. More herbal hop flavors come out with a bit of bread crust malts in the flavor. Very tasty and very drinkable.

On draft at the Rockbottom location in the Minneapolis airport.
Poured a crystal clear light copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured citrus dry hopping predominantly, with a light grain.
The taste was also hop driven with a full citrus spice. Good grainy malts as well.
The mouthfeel was typical of the style.
Overall a very tasty and well made hop driven APA.

Tasted On-Cask 09/14/05 at the Minneapolis, MN location.
A hazed golden color with a lower white head than it's on-tap counterpart. Citrusy grapefruit aromas and flavors are a bit more intense and in this case not necessarily in a better way... Definitely balanced to the hoppy side and may be a slightly out of balance in comparison. Light-medium bodied (lighter than the on-tap version).
Contrary to my usual findings, I liked the on-tap version of this one a bit better...

On tap at the Rock Bottom in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport.
Deep gold with white foam that laces the glass.
Inviting citrusy hop aroma and satisfying sweetness followed by acrisp dry bittered finish that leaves a slight chalky feel to the cheeks.
This is a well-balanced APA that leaves me wanting more. Very quaffable brew.

On tap at the RB in the Minneapolis airport.
The beer pours an orange amber color with OK head retention and modest lacing. The nose is fairly attractive, consisting of some light sweet malt and light underlying citrus. Flavors on the palate replicate the nose, consisting of some simple, but pleasant fruity malt and citrus. The beer is a bit on the sweet and malty side, but has enough of a hop presence to keep the beer from becoming heavy or tiring. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and alcohol seems as if it's fairly low.
A pleasant, quaffable pale ale, suitable for uncritical quaffing at an airport bar and not much else.

On cask at the brew pub in my Mug Club mug
Ahazy amber/gold, with a 1inch white foamy head, excellent retention still had about ½ inch when I finished it, foamy lacing is thick and abundant
Shops a plenty, citrus, grapefruit, floral, fruity, all blended together nicely, very fragrant and enticing Hurry up and taste me, it demands.
Tbitterness is certainly dominate in this one, some peppery and citrus flavors creep in and out, somewhat dry in the finish
Mcrisp and dry, light to medium bodied, light carbonation
Dwarms you up in hurry at least it did me after walking back from Target Center. A top notch EPA that several more would make you very happy.
Note: I visited RB prior to the Timberwolves game, then stopped back in for a nightcap This is an excellent nightcap!!

Serving notes - cool off the tap, fifth 4 oz sample in a 6-glass sampler at the Rock Bottom Restaurant, Minn-St. Paul Airport
Aroma - bright floral hops.
Appearance - two fingers of white head, crystal clear yellow body
Taste - Taste follows the aroma with the hops forward. But while I did not pick up any malt, I did find plenty to balance the hops.
Mouthfeel - medium carbonation and body. Some resiny slickness from hops and creaminess from the head.
Drinkability - a nice hoppy and very drinkable ale.

Nice amber color, white head that persisted through out and left some lacing. The bubbles were a little bigger than I have had in other casks, but not unappealing. This beer had a great smell, very hoppy, grapefruity, with some of the pale malt coming through. The taste is predominately of the same hop feel as was in the smell, but not as over powering as the scent may have led you to believe. There is also some pine/resinous hop character that keeps the beer slightly dry. The sweet pale malt does help balance qutie well. This is a very drinkable beer all in all. I was suprised by this one, I was actually pretty impressed.

looks like you would expect for a pale ale. light golden color and crisply clear. Well balanced smell - nothing striking.
Taste is malty yet crisp but with a sharp adjunct-like finish which is off-putting.
Mouthfeel is quite crisp for such a light beer, but the drinkability and overall impression is nothing special, but light enough to keep drinking.

Tried a 3 oz. sample of this at the Rock Bottom brewpub at the Minneapolis airport, and was very pleased. It poured a clear light orange-amber with light lacing high on the glass. Its bouquet was not too complex, but it smelled delicious all the same lots of floral and citrus hops sweetened by the toasty malts. On the tongue, the strong, almost bitter citrus flavors are perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the pale malts. Caramel attack, grapefruit finish. A bit of an unusual flavor combination for such a common style, and its pulled off very nicely. Medium body, smooth, a little oily, but with a nice finish that somehow manages to be sweet and dry. Very glad I stepped in and wish I had time to have another.

On-tap at Gitchee Gumee Brewfest - Chill hazen straw gold, thin but firm whitish cap; lacing sticks in spotty sheeting.
Aroma is big on citrus bringing across fresh orange juice. Solid Pale Ale Cascade & Chinook hop nose, borderline IPA-like. Quite juicy and fat. Keeps a light malt backing of toasty biscuit malt.
Good crisp taste, clean, with solid orange citrusy hops flavors. Light amount of toasted white bread in the back. Dry finish levels off gracefully with dry hops leaves and some notes of tin.
Body is a respectable thinner medium with a very nice clean and crisp profile, a bit quick to leave its impression and the left over tin notes get in the way in the end. Good drinker though. The orangy hop flavors are nice and would make this nice for a summer session pale.

Hazed bronze color...fresh, fresh citrus fruits (nectarines, [eaces, mangos)..also pineaple. Awesome fresh citrus fruit flavor too..no better pale ale flavor out there...
Mouthfeel is perfect...not heavy but not watery
Best Pale Ale I've had...this is a gem...such a great fresh citrus fruit flavor and aroma but also not one sided...great shit....loved the hell out of it at the autumn brew fest a couple months back and this growler confirmes my thoughts..
One of the best beers made in Minnesota...not a big high gravity high ABV beer but just a flat out fantastic pale ale...

Light copper appearance. Sticky off-white head leaves ample lacing. Hazed slightly. Aroma is top notch. Tangerine, nectarine, a little cannabis, resin, smoke...a little caramel in the background. The taste follows suit. A very quenching citric hoppiness is present. Bitterness is clean and not out of place and the hop flavor really impesses. Citrus fruits (grapefruit, tangerine, etc....). Smoky resin. Rind properties. Very good. Mouthfeel has appropriate prick to it. Body is about medium. I popped open this growler some 20 mintues ago and am over halfway through. Yeah, this is quite drinkable.
Well, it's taken over 10 years, but I've not found a new favorite "local" extra pale ale. This supplants Summit's as my new fave. Good stuff.

I enjoyed this beer on draft at the Minneapolis airport Rock Bottom bar.
Appearance: Poured a light orange color with a billowy white head that stuck around for a while.
Smell: Pine hops dominated and pretty citrusy.
Taste: Just as the smell suggested, the taste was pine hops and citrusy.
Mouthfeel: Thin to medium-bodied and bitter and pretty smooth.
Drinkability: Not a bad beer to drink while waiting for a flight home. Would try again if given the opportunity.

Served in a 20 oz. schooner-style glass. Enjoyed at the Rock Bottom location in MSP airport prior to my flight to NYC.
A-Arrived with 1 cm of bright off-white head that deteriorated a bit too quickly. The beer was an attractive brown-amber color, bright and clear.
S-Slight piney-herbal hoppiness. Overall subtle aromas.
T-Resiny, piney hops with a keep-you-in-check bitterness, in line with a medium IBU pala ale. Tastes bright with its crisp pine character, alongside a malt that seems dry, bready, with just a hint of a sweet remnant.
M-Medium body, moderately high carbonation (perhaps just a bit too much).
D-Nice, easily enjoyable brew. Unremarkable, but excelling in its unremarkableness.

Poured a clear golden amber with 2 fingers of creamy white head. Great retention and good sticky lacing. Smells of grain, honey, citrus, and grass. Tastes of light lemon rind make their appearance before way grain and light caramel notes come into play. Finishes with dry grassy notes and a touch of pineapple. Medium light in body with a good balance of flavors. Smooth with a crispy dry bitter finish and a touch of citrus. Refreshing, eay to drink, low in alcohol but full in flavor. Easy to session.

Sample at the MSP location. This beer is a clear orange color with a thin and compact off-white head that dissipates slowly. Dense pattern of spots for lacing. The aroma is citrus and hops with a touch of malt underneath. Medium-bodied and moderately hoppy with some citrus and floral notes. Light malt in the background as well. The finish is clean and somewhat hoppy with a lingering citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

From tap at Minneapolis, Minnesota airport bar. Very good APA with pleasant, flavorful aroma of citrus and pine hops. Enjoyable, well balanced with nice dry/bitter finish. In addition the bartender was knowledgeable, friendly and very efficient. A pleasant surprise for an airport bar - cheers!
