Served in a tall slim mug with Rock Bottom's Mug Club logo at the 16th Street Rock Bottom.

A - Arrived with a 1/2 finger white head with little retention and some lacing. The beer is a golden color and slightly hazy.

S - Floral hop aroma is the first thing noticeable. Also a nice blend of fruit hop tones on the nose: orange, tangerine. The back end of the nose reveals a distinct biscuit malt character. Stronger than I would anticipate.

T - Just like the nose the beer starts with a blend of hop character on the tongue: first the floral an fruity hop tones fill the palette with a pleasing mix of orange and tangerine flavors. The biscuit malt flavor found on the nose comes through in the middle and blends fairly well with the medium bitterness. The beer finishes with the lingering bitterness and malt character.

M - Lighter end of medium with medium carbonation. Crisp and slightly dry.

O - Not a bad beer but not outstanding. According to the documentation at the bar this is actually an IPA? I asked the server and didn't get a lot of information out of her. Anyhow, I'd drink this again without hesitation.

Note: This review was a re-post from my former account, jmkratt, which was hacked and I lost all my reviews...sorry for the redundancy.

Appearance: Nice clear golden brown. That's about all I remember.

Smell: Nice strong hops. Pine and citrus. Some sweetness as well.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Very, very good. Well-balanced mouthfeel. Nothing in the taste that knocks your socks off, but this is really enjoyable.

Drinkability: Good, possibly great session beer.

Overall: The go-to pick in Denver Airport.

Had on tap at Rock Bottom.
Pours a hazy orange with a very nice head and excellent lace.
The smell is pretty light, has some bread and Citrus notes
The taste follows the smell. Very simple brew. It is certainly not an American IPA as described. Not bad though, super easy to pound back.

Had this one on tap the other night at the 16th Street Mall location in downtown Denver. Poured from the tap a medium orange color with a slight beige head. Aromas of citrusy hops (grapefruit, orange zest) and caramel. Medium bodied on the palate, and the aromas carry over (citrus and caramel) to the palate.

dark gold and clear. medium body and carbonation. smells like a nice bouquet of citrus and bark. Tastes quite fatty and stale, like dank marijuana or wet tree bark. Wrong hops used in middle additions, perhaps. Not different from every other APA, except in its disappointing hop flavors. Skip it.

On tap at the Denver airport.

Hazy copper in color with a one finger white head that lasts.

The aroma is subtle but nice with caramel malts and citrusy orangey hop notes.

Very good flavor for Rock Bottom, with a good sweet caramel malt base, orange and grapefruit hops.

The palate is as it should be, medium bodied, crisp, and clean with good carbonation level.

Surprisingly solid overall, but not great in the big scheme of things.

Also had this at Denver International Airport. Nice amber color with a decent head. No much aroma, flavor had a malt flavor with a mild citrus fresh hop finish. Decent mouth-feel and drink-ability but was very average. Not worth the premium price, but was pleasant enough before my flight.

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden/orange color. A minimal white head forms, but recedes in a second. No lace to speak of.
S: Thin citrus hops and pale malts. Not much else.
T: Again, thin malts and hops. A grainy sugary sweetness, and some diacetyl linger.
M/D: A light body that is way to thin and watery. Easy and inoffensive to drink.

Just way to thin all around. Not much character. Blah.

Served on tap at the Rock Bottom in Denver International Airport.

A: Served a clear dark copper with a small head that had some retention and some lacing.

S: Clean fresh aroma with a hint of citrus.

T: Slightly sweet & citrus, with a good bitterness at the finish, refreshing.

F: moderate body, light carbonation with a dry finish. Seem to be pretty balanced.

D: Nice treat. Good to find something besides a BMC beverage while traveling.

Had on cask at the 16th street location.

A: dark copper with a cream head, not particularly dense but great retention. Not a lot of lacing, but a few chunks stick around.

S: Not much, floral hops, a little soapy, and a faint hint at a bit of caramel. Not a whole lot.

T: bitter, floral hops, slightly spicy, a hint of alcohol, malt backbone is fairly strong, honey and caramel. Not a lot of lingering flavors. Nice but not exciting or aggressive as noted on the menu. Somewhat salty? as well.

M: thin, lightly carbonated, really smooth. Slightly dry.

D: meh, it was okay. Nothing exciting. I like the smoothness of the cask, I just wish this a little better crafted of an ipa. Just tastes...cheap, is the best way to put it.

Served in a schooner-style glass at the Rock Bottom Brewery, Denver International Airport.

A-Arrived with a two finger bright-white head, pretty low retention. A glowing, golden colored beer, slightly hazy.

S-Very flowery and citrusy hop aromas, light and refreshing. Little maltiness detected.

T-The initial flowery/citrusy hops faded nicely into a moderate caramel maltiness on the last part of the taste, with a strong bitterness and light fruitiness. Balanced toward hoppiness. Clean finishing.

M-Light to borderline medium body. Appropriate carbonation (medium). Enjoyable feel.

D-Very drinkable--though this may have had something to do with enjoying it in an airport terminal after a pretty long day of work. Enjoyable hoppy flavors and easy on the way down. Thumbs up.

On tap @ the Rock Bottom in Denver International Airport. Clear amber orange with a well-retained 1 1/2 finger white head. Spicy earthy grapefruit rind hops with a little pine behind, and a typical caramel malt backbone. Flavor is a little more citrusy with enough caramel to keep this well-balanced, never getting sweet (or bitter). The finish was semi-dry with bitterness peaking around a 2. Light to moderate carbonation with a medium body. Pretty good, considering where I am.

It comes out of the tap a nice, clear, dark, brownish-golden amber. Aroma is seriously hoppy and almost like an evergreen tree. Flavor is decidedly hoppy, not complex, rather like drinking fresh pine needles; there is some bitterness, but not too much. Mouthfeel is jazzy and leaves a lively, hoppy aftertaste.

A light copper/orange pour, a bit hazy. Slight white head, a little zest creeps out.
Smell is a bit hoppy with citrus and biscuit. Not much Pale to it.
Taste is more of a PA, hops take over a bit to give it some crispness. Probably an old-style PA before beers became hop-mad. Fairly easy drinking.

Bottle from Rock Bottom in Denver: Pours a clear pale amber color with a medium bone white head that has good retention. Thin spotty lacing. Citrus and hops in the aroma. Medium-bodied and mildly hoppy with an off malt flavor crashing the party right away. The stale malt and vinegar flavor is becoming an all-too-familiar trend with these beers. The finish is bitter but not in a flavorful way. Rock Bottom is either keeping their bottles way past expiration or they just don’t travel well. Either way this was another letdown.

Pours a dark copper-amber, topped with a one finger off-white head.
Nice aroma, citrus, roses and toast, really made the beer welcoming.
Citrus zest in the taste, nice bitterness, pepper, the dry hopping comes out a lot more in the taste, than in the aroma.
Medium bodied, a very nice beer.
