Appearance: Pours a copper color with orange highlights. About 1.5" white head forms which has very nice retention and lacing.

Smell: Caramel malt, citrus, orange rind, slightly piney and resinous hops.

Taste: Caramel malts, with citrus and slightly resinous hops. Well balanced and pretty tasty. Decent, a bit above average.

Mouthfeel/Overall: Light bodied with low carbonation. Could use more carbonation to make it drink a little smoother. Overall, decent IPA but nothing awesome.

Drank at the Rock Bottom in the Promenade in Westminster, CO. Poured out a good copper color with 1" of head on it. Carbonation just right, head didn't stick around for too long, but it didn't vanish either. Aroma, nice C hop aromas led by Cascade.

Taste, a little more bitterness imparted rather than the hop flavor, but its not an all or nothing split, its like 65/35. Flavor wise, unlike the aroma, was obscuring the Cascades a little, maybe centennial or chinook along with it. Minimal citrus incursion. Slightly metallic mouthfeel. Some overall points for being fresh, well carbonated, accessible and affordable. Nothing discernable in terms of malt presence of alcohol sting.

Slightly better than your average ipa. I wouldn't fear ordering another one, Rock Bottom is one of the better chain breweries out there. Somewhere between BJ's on the high end, and well, I'm not going to call the other brewery out on the low end, but I'm sure plenty of you can imagine (or better yet, are in the know).

It's a deep, translucent bronze color off the tap, which creates a small, creamy and compact head that retains itself pretty well, holding up a foam the whole way, and drops down scattered lacing of moderate strength.
There's a hint of citrus in the nose balanced by caramel malt with notes of wheat, interestingly, and a little earth as well. It's a little light.
Hops are a little stronger in the flavor, though it's ultimately a little too strong in the malts for an IPA. Bitterness is mostly in the finish, though some pine and citrus peel do build up in the middle a bit. Malts give off caramel sweetness and breads with an underlying grainy/earthy note.
It's a little bit thin despite a medium body, though it's got a little life to it. The bitterness in the finish tends toward astringency, but it's not bad.

Slightly golden pale with some head, this one looks decent, even with only a speck or two of lace.

The smell brings forward some citrus hops, but not enough to be give assertive flavor, and the floral hint seems misplaced. Taste would gain greatly from some more body, but the flavors are not bad.

On-tap at the Bellevue, WA location, due solely to the fact that it was the only thing open on July 4 for pre-fireworks noshing.

This beer appears a clear dark bronze hue, with one finger of thin foamy ecru head, which leaves some thin membranes of mountain vista lace around the glass as it settles. It smells of watery citrus cream, and faint caramel. The taste is bitter citrus hops, soft caramel malt, and a bit of booze warming. The carbonation is moderate, the body tending to the light side, and mostly smooth. It finishes with a bitter astringent, nondescript hop flourish.

I like a bitter IPA, but this one is lacking that other requirement - a more than half-assed effort at malt balance and/or complexity.

To each his own: some find the fresh, floral aroma of this IPA to be a bit overdone, but I expect the PNW style of IPA to be a shameless celebration of the hop plant. This is why we have in-your-face IPAs here with names like Hop Bomb and Ruination.

I had two glasses, consistently and expeditiously served in standard pint glasses with a good half-inch of ivory foam that sustained well with respectable sudsy lacing. As is commented elsewhere, the bouquet was unusually strong, floral, piney, with fresh herb and very light lemony citrus.

Completely unfiltered and heavily dry hopped so as to deliver a full assault of fresh Cascades and Goldings (a roughly 50/50 formula, I'm told) the appearance was cloudy golden yellow.

Taste is well-balanced, not overpowered, mild but respectable bitterness and a fresh, grassy floral hop to match the aroma. Good mouthfeel and very drinkable. As far as I'm concerned they've completely pulled it off.

I went to the Rock Bottom in Cincinnati, though because it's a chain I am going to assume the beers carry over the same. I ordered a flight of six of their standard beers and as I tried each one I found that each was spot on to the style. The remarkable thing is how unremarkable the beers are. Don't get me wrong, they are well worth the try and certainly above average but they are produced for a mass market. So as lazy as it may be I am going to simply say that this beer was a text book example of the style without breaking out and setting itself above.
