Pretty dark for an IPA..call it muddy orange...aroma has bong resin, tobacco, grapefruit and evergreens..

Taste is herbal...oily..weedy hoppiness...with a strong pine/grapefruit bitterness..a little sugary toffee-like malt backing...

Medium bodied..pretty bitter on the finish...

A nice rich, bitter IPA...really dry and bitter on the finish...some will like this more than others...personally I like the fresh juicy hop flavors of their Itasca Pale Ale better but this is nice in its own way...above average IPA..

Nice looking copoper. Slightly hazed. Thin, bubbly beige head. Lace is adequate. Aroma is "green" with hops. Hop leaves. Minty. A little pungent, but more fragrant to me. There's a nice fresh hoppiness on the buds. Very bright and very oily and lemony. Nice. Bitterness is quite eveident. Orange citric character too. Malts impart a slight toasted quality underneath with a little biscuit character as well. The mouthfeel is nicely carbonated. Medium bodied. Nice taste overall. Not much alcohol. A bit fragrant. Overall, a nice IPA.

Pours a very deep amber--almost orange, but not quite. Plenty of head--long lasting and fine. Aroma is distinctly citrussy with plenty of malt balance--very nice!

Good hop structure on this one. Plenty of grapefruit on the tongue with slightly less malt than I might have expected from the aroma. But a really nice overall balance. Definitely an IPA, but tastes very mature, very balanced.

Sadly, had to run to an event at Target Center and couldn't stick around for more. I'll be back for this one--terrific!

Orange-amber in color, bubbly head faded quickly to a ring. The aroma was not very pungent, probably due to the head dissipating so quickly, but it was mainly of fresh citrus hops, with a little sweet malt in the background. The taste had a good bite to it, a lot of citrus and grapefruit-like flavor, but musty and skunky the way hops should be. The malt is rather indistinct at first, with the hops carrying the flavor (as it should be for an American IPA), but a good fruity sweetness comes through a lot more in the finish, and balances well with the hops. Decent mouthfeel, not especially carbonated and a little dry from hop resin. This is my favorite style, so I of course I found it to be quite drinkable. This is just plain a good representation of the style, I didn't feel like they put any twists into it, but it is pretty high quality. I think it would compare well with Bell's Two Hearted Ale, mainly citrus like, not too piney, but a good mix of hops none the less with light, sweet pale malt. If Rock Bottom had this as a regular beer, it would be the first thing I would order if I didn't want to try one of the seasonal.
