Poured a nice mahogany color, with no head, just a little white bubbles on top. Nose was malts, hops, a deep caramel flavor and perhaps some fruit(raisin, fig,) Taste was lightly sweet, malty, well balanced and the hops were subtle. ABV was upfront as you knew it was a boozer.
Good barleywine and a surprise from a Rock Bottom!!! Rock On!
Gained a new respect for Rock Bottom after this.

I really enjoyed the december brewmaster's offering, served in half pint glasses, a bit pricey at $4.50 a half

Poured a ruddy brown with 1/4"' sand colored head. Good lacing and pretty good head retention

S: Rich bready malts, brown sugar & caramel

T: Rich bready malt & hints of cinamon & brown sugar up front. Warming and a carmel/toffee follow as warms. No real hops profile at all. Finishes dry, warming and with loads of malt profile

MF: Rich, chewy & low carbonation

Pretty drinkable for the style. I could do about a pint of this before moving on or taking a nap by the fire. This is a good barley wine as most I've had lately
